This is not a military issue. The players should just be in the locker room like the days prior to 9/11. In Syracuse they play the national anthem prior to both teams coming out and before half the crowd gets there.

I found this little gem Dated 17 feb 17 FROM SAINTSFAN
I wasnt one of the retards who put him in charge. I stopped coughing up money to Siena two years ago. Siena can sit in their own excrement on this one. Enjoy.
of note... i also didnt vote. But you can figure out where my vote wouldve landed
...now this dribble
. .......While perhaps true... conversely... I would ask how many of you have had to live in this nation as a non-white and all of the baggage that goes with it? The hypocrisy that our nation often displays is embarrassing. You ask a fairly religious question in essentially saying "have you walked a mile in a military uniform?". I would counter that with "have you walked a mile in the shoes of a non-white in this country?". I think when we begin to look at the other perspective we begin to understand each other better.
ANSWER THE QUESTIONS YOU POSED SO WE CAN ALL SEE WHAT KIND OF D BAG YOU TRULY ARE. I TAKE EXCEPTION TO YOU CLAIMING WE LIVE IN A COUNTRY OF HYPOCRITES - EXPLAIN THIS ASSERTION IF YOU CAN. WHERE IS THE RELIGIOUS QUESTION YOU FERRETED OUT - IN YOUR TWO CENT MIND, I THINK. WHAT IS EMBARRASSING IS YOUR LACK OF CRITICAL THINKING AND INTOLERANCE.

One other thing that bothers me, when did the military gain any greater right to the flag then the rest of us. I am most appreciative to anyone who has served in defense of this country, but the Flag does not represent the military, it represents the USA, a country born out of civil disobedience. Wow! Just an incredible statement. Maybe I can educate you. The United States flag was created by and for the military. The first American flag was known as "the Continental Colors" or the "Grand Union Flag". It was a battle flag. It was first raised by the Continental Navy as the symbol of our nation in the American War for Independence. This first flag had the alternating thirteen red and white stripes representing the thirteen colonies, but instead of the stars in the sea of blue, it had what closely resembled the British East India Company flag of that era. On June 14, 1777, wanting to eliminate the “British influence”, the Second Continental Congress passed a Flag Resolution which stated: "Resolved, that the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation." The design of the flag has been modified officially 26 times since 1777. The lyrics of our National Anthem came from the "Defense of Fort McHenry", a poem written on September 14, 1814, by Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbor during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the courage and sacrifice of the American soldiers defending the fort and by the large 17ft. by 25ft. American flag flying triumphantly above the fort during the American victory. Our flag and anthem represent the amazing sacrifices made by the men and women of our military, some of whom have given their lives in the defense of our country. If you disrespect our flag and our anthem, you disrespect them. It’s just that simple.

well stated sir,if I may I would like to add for the behalf of nolasaint. this country was was not born from civil disobedience - you have it all wrong. the reason players may choose to kneel, or burn the flag for that matter - as ruled on by the supreme court - is because the framers who were the 'people' not politicians believed in the rule of law, equal to all and called it the bill of rights. they allowed provisions so the people could add or subtract as times change. inalienable rights is the cornerstone of america - completely unique in the history of man. America boldly proclaimed at its birth that some rights were endowed by man s very nature – and that individuals are incapable of relinquishing them. because these rights are endowed in people from nature s God, they are inherent in each individual and cannot be abandoned – in other words, such rights are unalienable. This is what gaurentees you to kneel, or have green hair - but as john lennon said, if you go carrying round pictures of chairman moa - you ain t gonna make it with anyone anyhow
nolasaint I believe you have your 4th amendments right to freedom of assembly mixed up with not adhering to the law - civil disobedience infringes on the liberty of others. perhaps you should read dr Kings thoughts in his memoirs.

I do not believe there is "widespread" social injustices taking place by our law enforcement community against those who are part of our "law abiding" minority community, for which this whole protest started over.
It does not make me a racist or a bigot. It is just my opinion as to what I believe to be a true and accurate statement.

I will open myself to the wrath of many....as a young man many of my family members were in law enforcement and I would hear their stories...is there social injustice today...i do not think so...is there excessive force today by the police...yes...a man has knife...instead of police turning around walking away he gets shot in the head...a man is running away and gets shot in the back...a man is in his own bedroom...police enter his bedroom and shoot him... a female poljce officer is in fear for her life simply because she does not have the strength of a man shoots a man...this is not a race issue it is a police issue...i remember my family members having a conversation about doing locker room checks on new recruits...if his "manhood"was small they were hesitant to work with him because he may have something to prove...what I am saying is that there needs to be a closer evualuation of the members of the blue "brotherhood". I still can't understand why someone that is such good marksman that they can shoot someone In the middle of the back can't hit them in the leg...

I do not believe there is "widespread" social injustices taking place by our law enforcement community against those who are part of our "law abiding" minority communities, for which this whole protest started over.
It does not make me a racist or a bigot. It is just my opinion as to what I believe to be a true and accurate statement.
It does not mean that there is not racism or social injustices happening in our society toward those who are part of our minority communities.
There obviously is. And just as theseen social injustices have improved over time to where they are today compared to where they were 50 years ago, they need to contune to improve so over the next 20 years they are that much better than they are today.
I have no problems with finding other peaceful ways to protest these issues.
But no one should be doing anything such as kneeling or anything else that would be considered to be in disrespect of our National Anthem and our Flag (and to those who have died or are willing to give their life to protect what that flag and what that anthem stand for) in protest of our law enforcement community.
Because in this one guys opinion, it just is not true. Not even close to being true.
Of course there may be isolated incidents but widespread injustice by our law enforcement community? Innocent people getting shot on a widespread basis? Come on now.
I have not heard of a single incident where any individual, from a minority community or any other community, get shot for following the instructions without question from someone in law enforcement.
It is a spit in the face to these very men and women of all races who put their life on the line every day to protect all Americans, including those from our minority communities, from those individuals in our society who are not law abiding citizens.
All this particular protest does and the support of it by those who are very well known in our society, is put power into the hands of those who are not law abiding citizens, minority or otherwise, to have open season on those who are in law enforcement.
An already dangerous job just got a thousand more times dangerous, and this is backed up in the amount of shootings and killings of police in the last 12 months.
It is these individuals who are in our law enforcement and in our military who are the ones who enforce our laws and our rights as individuals and as a country to be who we are as part of a democratic society with freedom of rights and freedom of speech.
And just as they have the freedom to kneel, we have the freedom to rip them for kneeling without being labeled as a racist. Because we are not racists.
Believe me, this place we call America, the land of the free, would go to hell in a handbasket pretty darn quick if these protests were based on any actual truth's of there being widespread social injustices by our law enforcement communities (of which many minorities are a part of) against our "law abiding" minority communities.
All these protests and support of these protests by our stars and athletes and media do is to encourage and incite violence to an already very divided America, where soon, it could very easily snowball and get that much worse.
Just one guys opinion.

That's Going to Hurt: 34% of Americans Are Less Likely to Watch NFL Games Due to Anthem Protests. According to a poll released by J.D. Power, the number one reason why fans tuned out of games last season was because of protests against the American flag and the National Anthem.
Lou Holtz on @nfl protests: The freedom of this country is the freedom to make good choices.

No this is the exact reason why there is the protest. It's the lack of people listening to what there protesting instead of facing the issues. It was about unarmed people mostly minorities being shot and killed by police at a high rate and then not being held accountable for the actions. And sky i hope your not talking about the female cop who shot a unarmed man whose vehicle broke down and was breaking no law and walking away from her.Maybe there was another incident I'm not aware of please clarify if there was.It comes down to a lack of training for the police forces.I've seen many of video of unarmed whites getting beat up by police. And I've seen many of armed whites being talked down and not shot by police. What I've seen is when the law enforcement is wrong there is no accountability for there actions..But like i said before and always it don't or won't matter till it happens to you.
