Keep something in mind those transfers numbers does not include Cheech and chong ( they got caught in his 1st month) Hopper was run out Jimmy's first summer and Adu who played a year for him- in addition to losing Nico- look for two more to leave at end of year.
Another thing to ponder- as it currently stands Ahsante Shivers at 3.6 ppg is currently our leading returning scorer for next season - the program is a dumpster fire right now

I agree no one likes to see Siena with that type of turnover, but with about 4500 D I kids playing and 600+ leaving every year, over four years that is 2400 kids transferring or just over 50%. It happens everywhere, but again, I understand we don't like to see it at Siena and we expect better. That mat be true on the average, Bill. But I will bet that in order to get to that average, you will see that the better coaches do not have that type of transfer/leave rate. Not sure if there is data that gets to that level of detail.

Wait, you think that some coaches might have less than the average and some could have a number greater than the average? Clearly you are mathematical savant. ;-)

There are whispers that Manning is out of here after this season.................either seeing the writing on the wall or seeking a better opportunity.

Obviously. the average consists of high and lows but I proposed that the better coaches have the better retention rates. And do you not think Siena's 50% retention rate in less than 4 years has a lot to do with the coach and are you pleased with this?

As I stated above, we Siena fans would expect Siena to do better at retaining players. But as Tony points out not all the early defections should be held against Patsos. That said I would still like to see more stability at Siena.

Who knows? If he is quick, has a good handle, makes good decisions, and can shoot and score, would you take an Evan Hymes type point guard? I would.
Don't give up on this year just yet folks.
We are only one game out right now. We have our four seniors. Shivers may end up being a good 5th for this year. I think he needs to give Richards a chance to play his type of game. He can help this team with scoring now that Nico is gone.
This Siena fan still "expecting" a MAAC Championship and a trip to the Big Dance this year.
If coach just(a very big if) "lets" them play up tempo transition type ball for 40 minutes, not passing up shots early in the shot clock, this team will be fine.
One step at a time. Win the MAAC this year and get to the Big Dance. Get some national recognition.
Then who knows what the future can bring? Some players transfer out. Some more come in.

I'd like to think that it provides, a, umm, shall we say, heightened awareness. Definitely provides for louder cheers too!,

I'd like to think that it provides, a, umm, shall we say, heightened awareness. Definitely provides for louder cheers too!, I take after my Mom (with respect to being a Siena fan). She's been through so much, health wise, that all her Dr's basically say they're surprised that she's still alive (after three major surgeries over the past 10 years); but that she's doing better than anyone else, her age - with similar medical issues). The one thing that keeps her going is Siena basketball. Doesn't matter if the team wins or not, who the coach is, how they coach, etc. she's there rooting the team on. Without that interest, she could have easily given up and "checked out" years ago. That's my level of fandom too.
