FYI this is why the fans get so testy. It seems like the admin feels the need to wait until the entire house is ablaze before they call 911. It seems pretty evident to me that there's no way next year is going to be any better than this year. Why wait? Even if he starts doing better for the rest of the season and we come out in the top 4 in league play, is that really considered success for a senior laden team?
They're going to have to weigh eating his contract (and the dumbass who signed that should be fired) with the hit to season tix. They may think they'll back fill the tickets but it is way harder to acquire a new customer than to keep an existing customer. Good luck, especially if the product you're selling stinks.

The barometer to watch is any drop in corporate sponsorships . . .

Most games half the crowd doesn't even know their is a basketball game going on or care if the home team wins as long as they have a shot at getting a free T shirt. This season I noticed some new big sponsors, when they dry up then the trouble begins.

Sponsors *should* be aware of the state of the program. You don't want your product associated with an unpopular team. Season tix dropping will impact the value of the Siena brand to corporate sponsors.

Despite their woes Siena is still the most popular college sports team in the capital district. No other team draws consistently as well. The goal is to grow it and that takes winning. Turn things around this year and win the MAAC even with the poor OOC record and people will not flock for the exits. As noted hope springs eternal when the team wins, suddenly next year will not look so gloomy and recruits with "look like they can contribute". Is that necessarily a 100% accurate view of reality, no, but that is the nature of most Siena fans. Before you go crazy, many will not see the potential silver lining should things turn around, but it will not be the majority of Siena fans. All that plus the financial issues guarantee there will be no coaching change this year or even next year (barring total disaster/ethically issues).

I suggest you all take a deep breath and see how year plays out. Jimmy is on the hot seat and I’m quite sure he knows it

This post is incorrect-- probably not one this year- another bad year and almost definitely a change next year.

I guess it depends on the term "bad". My opinion is over .500 both years and top half MAAC finish may not get it done. Single digit MAAC wins either or both years will certainly make it so and of course total meltdown and mass defections will certainly be a factor. I'm not saying I would be satisfied with mediocre results, but I don't speak for the Siena administration and their fiscal/personnel decisions.

I too believe it would take two straight years of losing records for Siena admin to make a change, but we have some saying outside forces are in motion. Ideally (other than patsos flipping the switch and winning NCAA games) patsos takes us to .500, runs out the contract and we go huge in 2021 with all the savings.

Im only one fan, but I do not want to kill him. I want to give him a big hug of support and help make it all better. I just do t know how to do it (help him/team) x's & o's wise. So, I'll just show support by attending games and rooting them on. I now they appreciate that, at least that's what they tell me at road games.

At the road games can you remind them to sit Brett, nico, marquis, long and jo once they get two fouls in the first half. This can't be done in the coachs office it has to be done during the games because they forget in the heat of the moment. We got him to put nico back in during a home game once so I think it will work coming from you.

Normally I agree with sitting a player with 2 fouls in 1st half. Not sure I agree with this team. The drop off after our top 5 is big, really big. I’m far from a stat geek, but if you look at +/- of our bench, it’s incredibly bad. I mean incredibly. That is a direct result of staff’s poor recruiting the last 3 years. Over that time Nico is only impact player staff has brought in. Don’t want to bad mouth our kids, but most of our reserves are severely limited. I have no idea why Jimmy has struggled so much recruiting- but he unquestionably has. You cannot build a program with a team full of kids with no other D1 offers( that’s no end all be all ) but it’s a good indicator. Nothing wrong with a under the radar type kid, in fact over the years we have been “lucky” with those type kids occasionally. But with this staff it’s the norm, the kid with other offers is the exception. With injuries suspensions etc , the lack of depth is primary reason why this team is underachieving. Jimmy has to try and ‘steal” minutes here and there from bench- not a good position to be in- but it’s his own making due to weak recruiting
