Will Brown had a very good game plan, make Saints play defense and they would eventually foul( obviously he was right) UA lost 3 or 4 starters—has Nichols and Cremo and a bunch of role players- problem we have Cremo and Nichols are sophomores- don’t look to beat UA next two years with So-So Jimbo P as head coach. So-So Jimbo talks about nerves from his seniors—but UA’s sophomores had no problem. Let’s face it, Will Brown’s game plan threw So-So Jimbo off base once again, UA’s zone was shading towards JO and they doubled him as soon as he got ball- Brown’s game plan was not to let Javion beat him. When double came- it took Siena by surprise other 4 players stood around and Javion dribbled out to corner. So-So Jimbo finally made some adjustments at half, but you can’t get down 18 points in 1st half and expect to win. Cant score 20 points in first half and expect to win. Can't have undisciplined coach and team and expect to beat a disciplined coach and team. Bret’s call was B/S but once again you can’t be so undisciplined that you get a rally killing T. probably didn’t matter, but we will never know since it was a 5 point play for Albany. This team will win games this year, but you are kidding yourself if you think this is championship caliber team- it’s not. Enjoy this year because if history is any guide So-So Jimbo will fall back to around 500 next year- UA can rebuild but don’t expect this coach to rebuild, he will have a ton of excuses why he cant. I think one Loyola fan called him a snake oil salesman when Siena hired him- I’ve come to believe that’s true- he is all talk no action. So-So Jimbo P will never take Siena to level Siena fans want- he wont stink he just will never build program to point where its consistently good. Maybe Saints should drop powerhouse AE programs like Vermont and Albany- So-So Jimbo struggles to beat them www.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/112716aaa.htmlwww.saratogian.com/sports/20161127/college-basketball-siena-drops-albany-cup-following-abysmal-1st-halfwww.dailygazette.com/news/2016/nov/28/albanycup_1128/518sports.com/double-dip-danes-sweep-albany-cup/www.dailygazette.com/news/2016/nov/28/mcguire_1128/www.timesunion.com/sports/article/UAlbany-can-take-Nichols-to-bank-10639170.php

Same old story--we're outcoached, outhustled, chemistry issues, rotation issues, blah blah blah. And we keep extending this guy's contract every year to further the school's exposure. I'm a 30-plus year season ticketholder, travel 270 miles roundtrip for home games, paying the highest prices in the MAAC by far. Shame on me.

They just added a year to JP's contract last spring (currently at 4 years). Unless they were smart enough not to extend the buyout (I'm pretty sure they weren't) we are stuck with JP for at least 2 more years. I'm not sure what the admins feel the measure for success is for the hoop coach but I am sure it isn't the same metric the fans are using. I can see another Lanier-style run through the MAAC tourney with the resulting "we can't fire him now" outcome. Oy.
I'm really getting tired of dropping tons of money on this program (from my meager funds anyway) only to see mediocrity...at best.
Siena's seniors got bested by 2 America East sophomores. Good effing job guys!!! There was no fire in the first half. That's on the coaches and players. Absolutely horrible.

BTW. Smart move by UA making woman's game separate event. Woman's game had 2k for attendance with separate ticket.

Jimmy should be embarassed. We had more talent and were deeper and were basically blown out. Great game plan by UA. Well coached team.
Whenever the next payday is jimmy should show up with a ski mask and a gun. In fact he should donate 1/365th of his salary to the school because he took yesterday off. Absolute embarassment.

The fact that JP didn't now about Nichols is simply inexcusable. Apparently this really was just any other game to JP and his staff...poor preparation as usual.

Did Pastos get out coached by Brown, absolutely. Fact of the matter is he gets out coached by EVERYONE!!!! However aside from that, those two refs (the two runts), took the game right out of the players hands from the onset. Come on 49 fouls called on the players with Siena's 5 best players getting 25 of them resulting in limited minutes for Wright - 26, Bisping - 21 and Clarth 24. While on the other hand Nicols plays 39, Cremo - 35 and Rowley gets 38. Does anyone else see anything wrong with that picture? And don't tell me those three Albany players play better defense than Wright, Clareth and Bisping. With those two refs dominating the action there was never any flow to this game and the game was painful to watch at best. Oh, by the way, UA couldn't even fill the arena with the Siena game! Pretty freaking embarrassing to say the least.

Maybe the local establishments could do us a favor and send Jimmy home early a couple of nights a week so he could watch some film or figure out how to play defense without committing 28 fouls a game?

I've defended Jimmy but he is really starting to annoy me. The loser's mentality really sucks. I don't want to hear it's all about the MAAC or March - that's from the low-major playbook.
At this point barring Siena winning either the MAAC regular season or postseason title (though not like Lanier's first year) I would be content on letting him walk out of the door. But I'm not a fool - Siena isn't going to fire him for a while. Perhaps Jimmy decides this job isn't for him. He's not a terrible coach - he cleaned up Mitch's mess but it is obvious he isn't going to take the program to where Deane, Hewitt and McCaffery had it. But he may be better in a big city at a low-major like Loyola.
The turnaround has to start now otherwise Jimmy's fate will be sealed and the (long) watch will begin.
Should add when/if Jimmy does go D'Arg has to go to. Enough is enough.

I asked before in another thread what is Patsos record since joining Siena vs the AE?
I'm coming up with 2 -7 off the top of my head.
Anyone have that info handy?

Like any other university ... The supporters who open up their checkbooks will have the most to say about the tenure of JP ... Follow the money

Pretty freaking embarrassing to say the least. GoSaints...keep in mind that UA was driving to the hoop (and drawing fouls) while we were settling for 3-point shots. That greatly contributed to the foul disparity. What I find amazing is that our inside game should have destroyed UA and it was quite the opposite. Additionally, we were absolutely horrible finding the open guy when 2-3 UA players would collapse around a Siena player. It was like they never played together. The refs called it tight but I thought they called it equally. We should have seen that and gone to the hoop. We didn't.
