I was 4 or 5 rows up from you..and same thing, a lot of old farts. UA fans are very vocal, very interesting to hear game/calls from their prospective Sounds familiar.

Again - it's on both the coaches and players! However, the players are the ones in the court - and have to take responsibility at the end of the day! Sure, they have to take responsibility. But I will say it again. The buck should stop with the HC. Players, HC, no you must go further, buck stops at those who make the final hiring decision. Same group who have given the fans alumni , those season ticket holders who support the program heartaches. Change is necessary, and there has been none at Siena, and you wonder why the program is in the state its in from the Fran years.

Irrational exuberance is now giving way to the reality that the Administration must get out of the coach selection process for Siena to return to glory. At any college program the coach and his/her staff are at at least 80% of the formula.

Jimmy would do well at place like Rider, Canisius or Niagara where so-so is acceptable Siena since the year 2000 is 277-252 a barely over .500 record.... take Frans last two seasons out of the equation, it is under .500 for a very LONG period of time.... Apparently so-so is acceptable at Siena as a lot of us have paid for tickets for that 16 years and have seen many more lows then highs.... he is exactly what siena wants, someone who will keep their head above water most years, won't need/ask for a large raise and keep just enough people happy. Sadly have already lost interest in this season. A team loaded with seniors and veteran playes, all maac pre-season picks, looks as lost as a brand new team that just replaced their starting 5. We all think the talent is at least there to have a nice season, but talent alone does not win games. A coach with an aptitude to game plan, adjust on the fly and expose weaknesses wins games. 99% of the time if you just roll out the ball and play vs a team that is at least close to you talent wise, w/o a plan, you lose. and what does next year look like? Who will grab a rebound next year? next year could be disasterous, esp if Nico's knees never get 100%

The refs were bad, but not as bad as our game prep and the performance put on by our coach.
Sure the players need to hit shots and take responsibility but the nerves, lack of discipline, lack of effort (in the first), lack of adjustments in the first that is on the coaching staff.
Slowly becoming the 2nd rate program in the Capital District that is on the Admin.....

So when a player make a dumb turnover or BAD shot - who should take responsibility?! And how do you correct it?! Who should be talking to that player- the coach or players?!

From what I saw the coaches made zero adjustment in the first half leading to the bad shots as the game plan was not working. Players will make mistakes, it is the job of the coach to use those mistakes as teaching points, it is also the job of the coach to put the team in a position to win. 18-22 year old kids will take on the personality of the coach, if the coach is ok with mediocrity and has an excuse for everything bet your ass the team will take on that persona and play down to the level of the teams they play.

Siena struggled to run sets vs UAPB, so that issue translates over to other games when facing better opponents and better coaches. The team has taken on (nearly fully now) the persona of the coach. If he is on record pretty much every year saying these games don't matter (maybe not those words, but he certainly paints them as unimportant) how can the team be that hungry to win those games? esp kids who have been with him 4 years now. and sometimes you can't just push a button and everything is right with the world... We saw some fran teams sleepwalk through games, but they had the pedigree and talent to usually get by.... this team doesn't.

This is exactly what I was talking about in the APB thread I didn't like the way we played or executed in that game and I was afraid it was going to carryover to the UA game and it damn sure did, unfortunately it's a sign of a poorly coached team.

Not sure about the plays.....but I am sure that he helped in creating a game plan that pushed all the right buttons.

When I noticed that Penn State had only lost to Duke by ten and had gone to George Washington and won I realized that Albany could be big trouble for the Saints. I guess the classes in Logic I had a long time ago stayed with me. Now If only I could figure out

Could only figure out how the Saints can play good basketball for more than 20 minutes a game.

Have never been a Jimmy fan but have been part of the "let's give him a fair chance" crowd. Well, his top class is seniors, he just got smoked by a younger Albany team, and there is nothing to suggest things are going to get any better. Time to move on at the end of the season. I'm also in favor of him being put on warning by administration that the next idiotic technical he gets like last night leads to a game suspension.
