I'd take 33 points on 29 shots all day everyday.

WB needs to play more. Presser made it sound like Evan won the game? I'm all for rah-rah, but come on. We need some athleticism inside.

Evan was very vocal, directing traffic out there and that is one of the intangibles coaches are always stressing to their bigs - Evan seems comfortable doing it and that, combined with his work ethic, has obviously put him in good stead with his head coach.

Take his with a grain of salt because it's based on one scrimmage and game but here's my take on next year I know it's early to worry about next year +1. I agree, it's way to early in this season to even consider worrying about next season.

my 2 cents on todays game
Wright and Bisping were awesome.
Clareth with a good first half, poor second half
JO never got in flow due to fouls. Stats okay but he really wasnt a huge factor
Fisher was fine, he hedged like he was supposed to on pick and rolls ... didnt really see his defense as much of an issue.
The newcomers all get incompletes. shivers reminds me of marice white as a freshman.
8 turnovers against 15 assists, 7 blocks and 7 steals.
Thought the biggest issue on defense was with the freshman guards especially in dealing with the princeton type tendencies of Cornell's offense. No, I don't think Cornell is a great team. But, the can be a touch team to defend because of how they play. Saints did more than enough to win the game.
New Radio guy was okay but I am not a fan of Grazulis at all. Video feed was fine.
Game one win, by double digits to a team that beat them last year. I'll take it. Bring on GW.

Pastos needs to get over whatever issues he has with WB. Fisher, plain and simple, can't rebound or play "D". WB needs at least half his minutes.

I agree, it's way to early in this season to even consider worrying about next season. We won the first game. Next year all the frosh are sophomores. We know we have 2 difficult games coming but let's enjoy the season and see where we're at in March. We've had enough bad years now that we don't have to look forward to one.

I thought Richard looked really good for the first ten minutes of the first half. He was very quick and distributed the ball well. A faster version of Wormley. With his athleticism I think the D will come. Smithen looked good to me too. Too early to knock Shivers. He didn't look to shot but that isn't a surprise for a frosh in his first game. I'll take him being like Mo on defense. But seemed faster and quicker than White was. We shot poorly from the outside in the second half early on so we kept pushing the ball inside. Seems we went flat when a lot of layups and close-in shots didn't fall and EF missed his first two 3s. But my takeaway is how much more athletic we looked.

Playing time is earned at practice and I suspect the coaches don't believe he has progressed enough to trust him on the court yet. I went to the scrimmage and while WB didn't log many minutes, the minutes he did play I didn't see anything that would tell me he is a difference maker. A lot of people ragging on Evan and quite frankly I don't get it. If you want to talk about his defensive deficiencies then you should look at the entire team after the Cornell game- they all need to work on stopping dribble, drive penetration or it will be a long season of watching the other team go to the charity stripe and our key players in foul trouble.

Great win-with room to improve as always! Hopefully, they use the highlights from Time Warner in the future!
