Think we can all agree it made no sense to reduce conference games for the upcoming season this late in the year . . . if Siena has to go lower division to schedule a decent game maybe Div III Williams or Amherst for local interest or final-four team from Div II for one of the two games would be palatable . . . if we're lucky Coach Abe may convince Davidson to play us for the other :-)

Introducing the 1st (and last?) MAAC Champions League Winter Tournament!
Held on the December weekend when the 1st MAAC games would have been played at the TUC (or downstate arena in Neutral Court) MAAC 1st Place Finisher vs. 4th Place Finisher MAAC 2nd Place Finisher vs. 3rd Place Finisher
Champions League Finals Champions League Consolation Game
(I don't have time to put it in a unique post, but creating a mid-major Champions League style set-up for non-conferences could significantly help with strengthening RPI - even if it would be a scheduling pain.)

This might be a great time to get UAlbany at the TUC for a 2nd game in '16-'17. Split the money with them, and they might do it. We get a 5 digit home game, and solve this scheduling problem the MAAC has dumped in our lap in mid-June. Everybody wins.

This, and I'd be knocking down Syracuse's door to try and get a Guarantee game w/ them. Last I heard their home Non-Conference schedule was still pretty up in the air. I'd say those two things would salvage the untenable situation the MAAC put its teams in with this short notice decision. FWIW - my idea of getting MAAC's top 4 finishers to play one another is far from ideal - I'd just rather see that happen than get a D2 opponent in to the TUC. I haven't renewed my season tickets yet, and if they schedule a D2 team as part of that slate, I'd most definitely be cherry picking games this year.

I was thinking the same thing minus the split gate, but if that is what it takes to seal the deal okay on a one time basis.

I agree w/ that, but really they're looking for more opportunity to schedule up (that's good!) but are given no time to schedule wisely (that's bad!). If anything this would work as a 1 year stop-gap, nothing more.

Two things sunk Monmouth last year
1. Not winning games they should have - Canisius Army and Manhattan
2. The MAAC as a collective wasn't good. Conf RPI 20
Don't think dropping 2 MAAC games from Monmouths schedule last year buys them an at large if 1 and 2 stays the same. They had a 50 or so RPI & they were out ..... USC had a similar RPI & they were in....The difference PAC 12 conf RPI 2 : MAAC 20.
As long as the MAAC conf RPI hovers around 20 your odds of getting an at large are slim to none

I just paid Monday. If we get a D3 school on the schedule we should start and email blast to Darg and the President and then sick 1970 on them Why wait until it's too late? Start it now to prevent it.

Better yet winner gets the auto bid. F the regular season

Except that the reason the Maac hovers around 20 is because it plays too many games against sub 250 teams (it's own members). Also, it was well documented that it is ridiculous to hold Monmouth to a standard of never losing road games when most of the teams on the bubble had them as well. Admittedly it is less than ideal to implement this now but nothing the Maac does surprises me. I don't get worked up anymore I just shrug and laugh. In the long run I like the move although they will probably abandon it once Siena starts benefitting.

I wish it was that simple but the issue with a 20 RPI is that MAAC teams dont fair well in out of conference games. If they did thier RPI wouldn't be 20.
