Couldn’t deliver is a understatement- every time I looked at CR players seemed entire team was being recruited by GW or Vermont - both of whom have former city rock coaches on coaching staff. I’ll second great guy, but just couldn’t deliver on recruiting trail. Wish him the best, but this is a good change long overdue

Yes, if you're the DOBO from Davidson - bet he brings files full of potential recruits that he worked hard to establish relationships with while at Davidson - those relationships should help Siena big time - best hotels, best pizza joints, cheapest car rentals, ..... it goes on and on!!!!! Travel in Siena's future will be vastly improved.....he may even institute big time hoop changes in our managers - then again that might not be possible - our guys are great...... Seriously, I wish Lucious all the best in the future - hope he lands on a staff where everyone is engaged to both help their program and their fellow coaches. LOL, the programs biggest fan! You despise the head coach so much, you refuse to see reality. You're on the MAAC board right? Iona is the leagues most talented team on a yearly basis. Who do their fans credit for bringing in that talent? Cluess or the recruiting assistant, Grasso?? 95% Grasso. THATS HIS JOB, and he does it very well. Our guy didn't do it well, and he lost his job because of it. And no, UA won't be picking him up even though he was helpful to them on many occasions. Let's see how many schools like up for the poor assistant coach that got screwed in Loudonville! lol Wish the US's air defense system was as finely tuned and sensitive as you are to perceived criticism of our head coach. You are Jimmy's personal Patriot Missle Battery, LMAO. The comment I was quipping on was CR's question which I saw as asking for opinions re whether hiring a DOBO was a good thing. Obviously, it is a good thing for the DOBO (which is what I said) and not such a good thing for Lucious (a conclusion left open to most skilled readers). Replacing an experienced coach with questionable recruiting skills with a person with little, if any, coaching experience and ZERO recruiting experience seems like a no-brainer (literally) decision to me. But it does look like he has a tie to someone on staff who should take him under his wing and help him do his job.

What is the source of the problem that is so bad it isn't fixable? I understand that one issue, and perhaps the initial one, was Siena passing over Carm Macriello for an assistant position. But that was years ago and one would think that Jimmy, and, if necessary, D'Arg, and Hart could have resolved any lingering issues, at least until now. I understand CR coaches want their kids to go to the highest program possible to add to their brand. Having no relationship with a high-end AAU team

Don't place too much blame on Lucious. Money talks. AAU programs depend on sneaker money. They fund the travel and the coaches. One of the cancers on hoops. The Rocks push kids to the same programs funded by these companies. You have to have a serious hook or out work the deep pockets.

In my mind, the City Rocks are a dead end for Siena. Not much need for specialist coach to get their players.
Stick with the NERR schools, the DMV, the NYC area, and also let Watson seek some Midwest kids.
Philly/NJ would be nice but you can't cover everything.

I know who we're talking about but I should bring up that technically there are 2 Jordans. This was the primary reason for the decision. Having two Jordans on staff was causing too much confusion on the message boards so one had to go. Jimmy learned from his past mistake in recruiting another Jimmy, another potentially confusing situation that was rectified this offseason.

City Rocks are Nike funded. Siena is Under Armour. Vermont is Adidas. Losing our top target(Anthony Lamb) to an Adidas school had nothing to do with the CR wanting him at UVM for their benefit. There is no benefit. The sad thing is, I'm not even sure we got a visit.

UAlbany posted an opening for Director of Operations, Mens Basketball on May 16. It becomes effective on July 1, 2016....

Nothing to worry about here....our head coach is under a 5 year contract and, even with the additional season ticket sales from Siena fans, UA (the school, not the company) could not afford the buy out!

Got to love all the defections to the ua program (just to see one game, yeah right). Nice job Siena.
