I’ve given Jimmy and his staff some grief over last few years on weak recruiting- it’s time to give them props. Really like the 4 man class coming in, add Kadeem to it next year and we should have good solid guard play for next 4 years . Nico Kenny and Kadeem fit the style Jimmy wants to play, 6’3’ athletic type guards- can’t have too many. Evan Fisher looks to be solid big man,LaRose a shooter. Need some development this year out of WB- and Brett Lavon and Marquis all have capability to be all MAAC if they work hard in off season
1 ship left what do we do with it? I’d like to see an experienced guard or Wing eligible immediately. Perhaps an impact prep kid? Whoever he signs want an athletic kid capable of playing up tempo – failing that hang on to ship for possible mid-season transfer next December
Anyway like the direction the talent is going a definite uptick this recruiting cycle

I agree that Jimmy and his staff seem to have a very good class coming in for fall 2015. The team still needs a real 3. No offense to Lavon he just doesn't have the quickness to defend the wing nor the shooting/slashing needed to help the team win the MAAC and some up games. The one other player the team is still really lacking is a legit 5. Silas is the closest player we have to a true 5 yet he can't score or stay on the floor. Thus with the last ship I'd really like to see one of these players brought in or as Tony said hold if for now...

Technically, the statements about Lavon are true... however, it will be interesting to see if that scholarship isn't filled, how the team plays with an athletic slasher and shot blocker along side Lavon. Obviously, my wish is for a long athletic wing available to play immediately

Yeah, personally I would like a healthy Kevin Durant to come back and finish college here under a new NBA rule sort of a reverse one and done rule.

The more I see of Justin Gorham's game, he would be a perfect fit, albeit a year away still. I know he has some A-10 offers and a senior season to come but I would be all over that kid. Sell the playing time that would be available for his four years......Freshmen season he platoons/gets adjusted and then the next three its his position to lose.

With his AAU connections wouldn't be shocked if Dayton gets involved.

I will say something that i'm sure some folks around here won't like to hear.
I would take a look at a JUCO that Iona is bringing in for a visit, Tyrell Bellot-Green.
He's a 6-7 SF who is originally from Mississauga, ON a suburb of Toronto, much like our newest commit Smithen who is from Ajax,ON another Toronto suburb.
Bellot-Green played this past year at Hill College down in Texas. Back in HS he spent some time at St. Benedicts in NJ.
Saw on twitter he hit 96 3's this season at a 50% clip.
If there is one thing Cluess knows it is athletic wings who can shoot from the perimeter which is exactly what we need.

Could be fine, but I said it before..it wasn't very long ago we had a chemistry issue.

I still say go after him hard and maybe Nico can help out some.

I clearly said I would consider him, but wondered why he was at a JUCO.

I'm saying that rational of thinking is absurd. Carefully selected as if you would any frosh there is very little risk.

Carefully selected as if you would any frosh there is very little risk. I'm just saying there's reasons that a kid goes to JUCO rather than the traditional 4 year school. And I wondered what his was - imply whatever you want in that. Some reasons are not bad, but many are and I think that is not out of line to say. Not sure you can debate that. Many here get on Iona for that. They seem to handle it well, but it's definitely different than handling kids straight out of HS. And for all Iona's talent, they have not been able to break out to the next level. And, yes, I know, HS kids have issues too, but I think JUCOs and transfers have to be looked at differently. That's all I'm saying.
