Since the MAAC will only provide 16 conference games in 2013-14 with Loyola's departure, Siena will also need to add two more non-conference games.

I agree with your post. I agree program is in a good spot As long as it’s a one year aberration I love the schedule this year. It’s perfect for young team learning to win- and it gives Mitch time to tinker with different combinations. The goal at any level as head coach is to play to your strengths and minimize your weakness. This team is fast, deep and athletic. We have the best big man in conference ( who also runs floor like a deer) 3 proven scorers. This team should be playing a lot of ¾ court press. A lot of tight man to man ( I know Mitch is a zone man) But Mitch’s zone typically gives up a lot of 3’s..With our smallish back court it could be vulnerability against some teams if they are hitting their 3’s . We should be pushing the ball at every opportunity to take advantage of our team speed. And when we are in half-court offense we have OD to pound ball into and if teams are going to double or triple team him. We have to recognize it quickly and get ball to a shooter . Have everyone play full out and substitute liberally to keep everyone fresh and to keep a lot of young players happy. Hopefully nobody has to play more than say 30/31 min a game this year. This is a big year- Mitch has the tools to make this work- but this is a style of play that Mitch has never coached as a head man. I have a feeling you will see him change this year

That's nice to see the team will be going to France and Italy in August. I remember Knicksaint mentioning it a while back but I did not know if the trip would be in August of 2013 or 2014.
This year should shape up to be pretty good and though we lose OD - the 2013-2014 season we should be even better! We'll have the foreign trip and a very good schedule (Old Spice and probably a money game to help pay for the trip) with a junior laden team much like the 2008-2009 team had.

I think this is the most exciting season sin year since the second with the big three. The big three you just knew they could win. This team has even more possibility of excitement because of the depth. If someone is playing poorly they can come out. Foul trouble shouldn't be an issue.

I agree especially regarding the depth/foul trouble point. Because of the depth one would think we could be much more aggressive defensively since we'll have more bodies/fouls to use/give. I'd still rather play aggressive w/out the fouls but it's good to know foul trouble may not be as big a concern this year.

I didnt wait two years for Imoh/Lionel's swatting prowess for nothing there better be some hard fouls and rejections into the third row....no more of this cupcake interior D-fense. ;D

There's already signs that next yr's schedule will better/tougher. It starts with the summer trip abroad & the Old Spice Classic ( OSC). The competition in OSC should be high. In order to pay for the summer trip (& trip to Disney) we'll all have to contribute more to the athletic fund OR they'll have to schedule 1 or 2 "guarantee" games. Assuming they go the guarantee route it may result in the caliber of playing the likes of a Pitt & KU like before. Since they went from paying Fran $515k to paying Mitch $266k they should be swimming in money. Cause I don't exactly remember them cutting the price of season tickets in half.

I noticed they lowered the heights of Oliver and Audu. We nowhave 2 guards between 6-0 and 6-3 I noticed they both shrunk since we signed them! lol Now we have 2 guys between 5'10" and 6"4"!! Miraculous!

Scott, Season ticket sales are down and I suspect corporate sponsorship is as well. So I suspect they aren't 'swimming in money'
