You have really calculated that tuition, room and board and a stipend is less than minimum wage? That's right. The average athlete works approximately 53 hours a week on the sport, thats 2700 hours per year. The net cost of college excluding grants at a 4 year private university is about $27,000. That's $10 an hour, minimum wage is currently $15 an hour in the public sector.

Singelais tweeting Margot is done for the season per coach. Not clear if she can get a medical redshirt. Bummer ... Injuries have been no friend of this team the past two seasons

The net cost at Siena is not 27G. Not any more.

Thanks for the link gorvy. I had been quoted the number in the 40's by a friend whose daughter considered Siena. I have three teenaged daughters myself and expect to spend some quality time on that site starting real soon.

Good luck, that's just an average, I'm sure there is a wide range. Be sure to ask for sibling discount if they choose same school.

Better yet, quit your job and get on the faculty of the college they want to attend! I believe Gorvy does his research well, but Siena is far above 27K per year.....I wrote the checks as recently as 2010.

According to 4guysinblazers Twitter feed Margot had Off season hip surgery. That is correct. And she needs to have surgery on the other hip, too. Question now is should it be done now, or see if she can make it back to the floor sometime this season, and contribute to the team, and do the surgery after the season. A very difficult situation. Feel very bad for Margot, and just hope that whatever happens going forward, she comes out of it in good health, with the prospect of as few problems as possible after her playing days are over.

They had a recruit in too on a visit. I think they are hoping for a commitment today
