WB came from prep school. He lacks DI experience but is on the same level as far as his body and maturation as our sophmores abd thats why he wiill be a rare MAAC big to make an immediate impact. Wheras Paige is a HS grad and not ready yet. And all of those dunks came in the scrimmage. This time last year that was not the case #PlayerDevelopment Wolfe had like 15 dunks in games last year. His official role: Dunker. #PlayersDoingThingsTheyWereAlreadyGoodAt Show me film of Wolfe getting rebounds and blocking shots. #That'sPlayerDevelopment You are exaggerating. Wolfe had 3 or 4 oops in one game on the road vs Canisius. I guess you didnt see the end of season highlights at the banquet before the CBI. There were 0 dunks on the film White got up higher than last year on his dunk and only needed 2 steps to pull that off. He missed more dunks than he made last year. That was a 2 handed flush #Athleticism #PlayerDevelopment

What I liked most about last nights scrimmage-- was the pace, it was much quicker than last year. And I don't agree we need much out of frosh..WB will play-- but I remind you in history of the MAAC no more than a few guys 6'8" or taller were impact players as freshmen -- it just doesn't happen at our level, if they were finished products at that height wouldn't be in MAAC..WB made a few great plays last night..but he also was yelled at 5 times for being in wrong position, giving up offensive rebounds rebounding with 1 hand etc ..WB will play but dont expect a savior. Paige has some work to do, kid can play but besides starters he is behind Cole-White- Oliver.. Cole shot poorly last night but he makes things happen, he is by far our strongest player with the ball and he is tough.. I mean super tough Jimmy likes those type players, not sure were Patrick ends up on depth chart-- but he will have opportunity. In fact I think most of the 6 thru 11 players will get an opportunity early in the season to show what they can do..not a lot of difference between 6th and 10th man
We need to score more points -- if we score about 70--- then I too think we are headed for about a 3rd place finish. If we can get avg up to 75-- we will win the MAAC

The Saints will be even more effective on offense. Fg percentages will increase abd turnovers will decrease as will the fouls. We are one of the top MAAC teams with our returning players. We dont need our freshmen to carry us nor make much of an impact. Just support and contibutions. After watching the scrimmage this is where I think we are in terms of a depth chart. Disapointed that Bisping didnt play to see the entire picture Starters 1.Wright 2.Poole 3.Long 4.Bisping 5.JO First off the bench 6.Hymes 7.Oliver Substitutions 8.WB 9.White 10.Cole Bpttom 3 11.Silas 12.Paige 13.Wolfe I'm going to disagree with subs-- I think White and Oliver are locked in a terrific battle for 1st off the bench right now, Mo is actually playing better than Ryan on day to day basis, but Ryan is a known commodity and he can shoot, and most importantly doesnt make a lot of mistakes-- so early in season I like Ryan as first off bench-- both Patrick and Mo will get opportunity to move into first off bench slot- see who performs when the "lights" come on. As for Hymes, he is playing great, but he happens to have the best pure Point in MAAC in front of him, and he is too much of a defensive liability especially at 2--I see Evan getting 10 to 12 min a game..and games he doesn't "have it" or bad match up for him even less. WB will be in playing group

WB will be in playing group I agree with you again. It was tough putting White in the sub group esp after lastnight. It will be game to game for him early. Its just Oliver's 3pt stroke and Hymes ability to be an immediate offensive spark that make them first off the bench...but at times White's toughness and versatility on D will be needed right away. Also the first one off the bench could be a big because of early fouls.

I saw the same thing Tony. The highlights are almost done #StayTuned Why do highlights? Just put the whole film out there.. It's ok to show a miss.. It was just an intra squad scrimmage not a real game. I only want to show the positives of our guys. It was open to the public so if you want to see the negatives show up.

You dont ignore stats KK but your predictions are dark while the optimistic fan sees progress and improvements. Like this The Siena Saints Dunk: youtu.be/hZZujowiEV0All I saw was 6 dunks. 1 by White, 3 by Wolfe, and 2 by Brandwijk. We know those guys dunk. And 2 by Brandwijk who is a frosh...which brings me back to one of my original points. Need frosh to significantly contribute. I don't think we need the frosh to "significantly contribute" - why would we? All we need is from Brandwijk and Paige is to be solid role players off the bench. They just need to add quality depth. They are arguably the 10th and 11th men on the team right now. Now yes we need them to have a big impact in 2015-16 I will agree. Siena returns every player from a team that went 17-10 since the end of December. Yes the CBI championship is a big reason for a lot of the optimism but the fact is Siena was well on their way to being a contender BEFORE the CBI even took place. What we need is for Long and Wright to have a decent sophomore jump and for White/JO to ascend to major parts of the rotation. Also to get good play out of Cole/Oliver/Hymes. I fully expect Bisping and Poole to both have big years (both capable of being all-MAAC 2nd team or better). No longer will teams be able to double and triple Poole. As a senior he will be even more dangerous when opposing defenses can't only key on him. I also agree with many people who have opined here that we need to up the PPG total from 69 to the 74-76 range. That's about 5-7 points a game - two more made FG (made two and three more a game). Last year we started slowly because a young team was learning a new coach's system plus a really tough early season schedule. Now these players have been in Jimmy's system for a year and have a ton of experience to go along with their talents.

But how much more? Saints really eeked out 11-9 last year as it was. The defense will need to stay just as good or better. That puts a lot of pressure on. I think you are wrong here. defense is something that can be controlled through effort. I have not seen a Patsos team that has not played with great effort and intensity. The MAAC is down, just about every team lost multiple key players other than the Saints. The Saints could stay the same and move up. But, a team that counted so highly on freshman and inexperienced sophs simply has to expect improvement from within.

The rest of the league didn't stand still. It's not as 'down' as you think.

My predicted MAAC standings: 1. Siena (15-5) 2. Quinnipiac (14-6) 3. Iona (13-7) 4. St. Peter's (13-7) 5. Manhattan (12-8) 6. Monmouth (10-10) 7. Rider (9-11) 8. Marist (8-12) 9. Fairfield (7-13) 10. Canisius (6-14) 11. Niagara (3-17) POY: AJ English 1st team: English, R. Poole, M. Dominique, O. Drame, Z. Hearst With all due respect, you're way off on Iona and Manhattan. 15 losses between them is wishful thinking. I can't see either of them losing 5 games. I will have to go with Siena at 13-7 or 14-6, good for a second place finish in the MAAC regular season. Winning the MAAC tournament at the TUC is definitely in the cards. Go Saints.
