I saw that already. Not comparing Wolfe to him. Wole is Wolfe www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKA4vh-dg0EIts worth it to see it again and ask the question: Does Siena have anyone who could pull off this dunk in a championship game? I think the answer is yes. If Lavon practiced jumping and spinning in the air a lot, I think he could pull off this dunk consistently in game situations. But, I suspect Lavon is practicing more important things because he knows that a two-handed (non-spinning) dunk goes in 99.9% of the time whereas a spinning one-handed dunk often flies off the rim. As a freshman and sophomore, Edwin looked like a future two-time MAAC POY. But, we all know how that turned out. As freshman, Lavon and Marquis simply look like two very talented players who will do everything they can to win. These are the types of players that I want and they also happen to be the types of players who eventually make 1st team All-MAAC. Something Edwin couldn't do. I plan on judging our players based on four years of development.

I like Lavon as a player-- but he isnt doing a 360-- hell I dont even think he has a dunk in college yet- Edwin had a boat load his freshmen season. While the 360 is nice the alley oop he had in NCAA's vs Vanderbilt was a thing of beauty Ummm something Edwin couldn't do? 2007- MAAC RoY--2008 1st team ALL MAAC- 2009 1st team ALL MAAC 2010 pre season MAAC POY-- played entire year with bad knee and still made 2nd team ALL MAAC and speaking of 2010- the entire Siena starting unit made an ALL MAAC team- RR - Franklin and Moore 1st team, Ubiles 2nd team and Clarence Jackson 3rd team www.maacsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17400&ATCLID=940275

Yeah it is kind of unbelievable that the most talented player on those teams (Ubiles) did not win the POY. Hasbrouck won it in 2009. Franklin in 2010. And Rossiter in 2011 on a team with a losing record. Had Ubiles been healthy his entire senior season he scores over 2000 points for his career and very well might have won it over his own teammate. I was called a delusional homer (by other MAAC fans) when I said Siena had 4 of the best 15 players in the MAAC when the Big 3 were juniors. I was wrong. Siena had 5 (Big 3, Kenny and Rossiter) of the 7-8 best players in the MAAC in 2008-2009 and then 5 of the best 12 the next year with CJ. I hope we can get back to that level of talent but it won't be easy. You have to recruit great and lets face it have some luck too that they all become elite at once.

Sure we need to increase our three percentage, but if we attack the rim/shoot within the 3 point line better and increase that 2 percentage, my guess is we will win a lot more games. I cannot tell how valuable hitting your 2s consistently does for a team. Fran's teams could hit 3s, but attacking and shooting 2s at 45-60 percent clip will hurt anyone...even if that team is an Iona that hits their three consistently. I've said it before and I'll say it again, lots of 2 in (45+), good free throw percentage (75+), and about 7-9 threes in, and you've got one of heck of a team. I agree, but to get to 7-9 made threes pergame the three point percentage would have to improve dramatically. Last year the team shot the two point shots at your 45% rate and shot the FT at 67.7, but the three pt shooting percentage was 32%. Unless the three point percentage significantly improves to something close to 50%, which is not going to happen, getting to 7-9 makes per game would result in fewer twos taken/made and the point total would not improve given the difference in the respective shooting percentages and the fewer FT as a result of more threes shot vs. shots at the paint. But your point is correct, improving above the 45% from within the three point line and improving the three point percentage is a key, albeit an obvious one, to getting more wins next year. It is easy to say make 9 threes, shoot 60% from 2 and 75% from the line. That would yield between 86-92 points per game depending on how well you shoot the three, but if it were that easy there would be a lot more teams doing it. It doesn't happen often. (Not one team shot 60% from 2 last year, only 30 shot better than 50%, while 88% shot 45% or better from 2) and only 21 teams shot 75% or better from the FT line Obviously with that said, let's try to move toward that goal.

Fran hit a lot of home runs in recruiting (Kenny, Edwin, Alex, Ronald, RR and OD) CJ was a triple. Downey and Wignot were doubles. Let's forget the singles and strikeouts! lol

Now we have Long, Wright, Wolfe, JO, and White to begin a new era....those guys are not coming back... this group already cut the nets down once. One season at a time but I a looking to end the season that way every year #3peat.
Yes Lavon can do a 360 but he woukd never do it in a college game....Wolfe is the best dunker on the team and he can do an assortment of things but in the game he will just give you a two handed flush

"but we all know how that turned out".... umm, #3 all time scorer and basically top 10 in all other relevant categories. We should hope for 60% of that with any player that comes in to siena.

Wolfe could prob dunk on a 12 foot hoop....

It is kind of amazing with all the great players and successes we've had at Siena we've never had a player who had more than a cup of coffee (Ubiles) in the NBA. Iona has had a bunch of guys (mostly from the 80's). Rider had Jason Thompson. Marist had Smits and Jared Jordan. Davidson had Curry. Hopefully we are "due" and get lucky and fall into an NBA draft pick down the line. Of course I'd rather have 4-5 elite players who aren't quite good enough for the NBA rather than one NBA guy and nothing around him.
