the pre-season mags with these predictions are what they are, but it is nice to see Siena thought highly of...........all good.....................and it is pretty clear, based on their returning talent, and riding on the heels at the end of last seasons post season success, that they are squarely a team that will contend for the MAAC title no matter where they are selected by media, coaches & message board experts (lol)..........PLUS, and this makes them even MORE of a factor, is playing the conference tournament at the TUC, which will make them a very strong favorite to cut down the nets in March 2015 (most teams would likely want to not be on that side of the bracket or rather face just face them in a final), IMHO!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, I hope someone there has a clue, with Siena picked first, and Jimmy Paige as freshman of the year. However, they also say Iona is one of the league's "better defensive teams".

I just got a copy. No one mentioned that Jimmy Paige is the newcomer of the year. Honor Roll: Best Playmaker: Marquis Wright While I may agree with his pick of Wright (because I'm a Siena fan) this Brian Lester (author) lists Chavaughn Lewis as both Best Defender & Best NBA Prospect. Am I missing something? He's good but not that good. Heck if he's not Brian's pick for POY why is he the best NBA Prospect?

Just finished reading Brian Lester's write up for the other MAAC teams. This may be the year the MAAC sends two teams to the NCAA tournament, just not how you'd think. No it's not that one team will receive an at large bid but rather he thinks: it's possible that with Monmouth returning 4 starters - he won't be surprised if Monmouth emerges as a contender for the NEC title. Yes, you've read that correctly, Monmouth may actually contend for the "NEC" title this year. They have my support and I hope the rest if the MAAC fans rooting for them. That way the MAAC may be the first conference to send two teams both winning different conference titles.

Lindy's top 25 HS Sophomores (Class 2017) #23 Connor McCaffery.
Top 100 HS Seniors (Class of 2015) #93 Terrell Allen. Siena was recruiting a top 100 recruit. Didn't get him but was at least recruiting him.

Maybe they should just go ahead and split the MAAC into two divisions, the America East division and the Northeast Conference division.

Lewis has NBA size for his position and so does Lawrence if he really plays the 3.. there are 2 different conversations going on here. The top college players are not the best draft prospects per the scouts

The top college players are not the best draft prospects per the scouts I can see where you're coming from, makes a little more sense now. I just don't know if Lewis is as good as Ubiles was (comparing the two when they were Jr's). We'll see how Lewis compares to Eddie's Sr numbers (when Eddie was injured the entire yr). Eddie made NBA even if only for two 10 day contracts. I still find it hard to believe Lewis is any better. Unless the author's point was simply to guess at the best MAAC player NBA prospect, even if the author know's for a fact it won 't happen but had to choose someone. That makes more sense to me. ( that he was forced to pick simeone).
