I guarantee Hymes plays more than 5 to 8 minutes. He will be good for 8 to 10 points a game you can't keep one of your scoring options on the bench and JP knows that. going to come down to three things. The same three things since he arrived at Siena. - how well is he shooting - how often is he turning the ball over - can he guard his man I agree with Tony on Silas. You cant miss layup after layup plus turn the ball over and expect to see a lot of minutes. Keep in mind that JO missed even more layups. Silas has a career 53% FG% which isn't bad and that looks real good when compared to 32%..

Last year when JO and Silas had games where they could shoot straight or finish, we didn't anyone else to go to. WB is going to be another good offensive weapon for Jimmy in his arsenal. WB hasn't played a minute of DI ball but he sure looks like he has skills.

Last year when JO and Silas had games where they could shoot straight or finish, we didn't anyone else to go to. WB is going to be another good offensive weapon for Jimmy in his arsenal. WB hasn't played a minute of DI ball but he sure looks like he has skills. WB has small forward skills. It's not always smooth. But they are there. If he learns to play like a big man, I don't see how he doesn't play major minutes. The guy can drive or hit pull ups and do a lot different things. And he throws down. Put him in there and there is no bad FT shooter. The starting lineup would shoot like 75%+. That kind of versatility helps you win close games late...which was already a strength last year. You'd have Lavon 6-7, Bisping 6-8, and Brandwijk 6-8 all capable of driving or hitting a jumper....or getting fouled and MAKING the FTs. If guys like Silas and JO don't play as much, we'll probably lead the MAAC in FT%...and we'll be at the line quite a lot I'd say. If WB doesn't blow it, I think the starting lineup is already set. Wright 30, Hymes 5, Oliver 5 Poole 20, Cole 15,Oliver 5 Long 15, Poole 10, 15 Paige/White Bisping 30, Long 10 Brandwijk 20, Silas/JO 20 Some people may want to redshirt. If Jimmy decides to use the guards more and move say Bisping to center more...then Silas/JO's minutes could fall.

Just to add:
In my opinion, an immediate impact Brandwijk might be our best avenue towards a MAAC title. Siena needs some kind of offensive edge to beat a team like Iona.
WB would give us that while still allowing us to be big and defend/outrebound them. It would help us close that big scoring gap during the long stretches we want to take advantage of size. He's a frosh and I'm not sure he's ready but he could be a big key to the season. Those big scoring droughts with the big lineup would lessen with the additional versatility/shooting in the frontcourt.
And then the scoring depth off the bench would hopefully put us over the top.
Siena needs to establish itself as the one team that can BOTH defend, rebound AND score...with depth. That's our path to a title. Be the best overall combination of everything.
We won't be the best offensive team so we need to continue to defend and score ENOUGH. And we are in a position to dominate the boards as a team. We are deep with rebounding guards which is a huge asset.
As the reliance on Hymes lessens and everyone gets stronger on the boards with age, we can just hopefully put teams away with volume of shots and tiring teams out with physical play. And as a result, we'll continue to pull away in the last 10 minutes of games.

Keep in mind no right or wrong here—we are all just guessing and in some cases – it’s too close to call . In many areas I agree with KK—I think WB may be a big help to the title this year, and if he can defend the position, I think he just might start- in any case if the two weeks he was here are any indication he will definitely be in playing group. I wouldn’t be surprised to see WB start and see Pat Cole come in 5 min into game. I know preseason pick up isn’t the end all be all, but Patrick Cole is one of if not our best player. Only way Patrick doesn’t get 25 min a game is if he doesn’t “buy in” I never write off seniors as they seem to rise to occasion when it’s their last go around , but Hymes and Silas are going to have their hands full getting time. JO is much improved and Maurice looks like another player , I haven’t even got to Oliver who can play. Doesn’t look like Paige is ready ( he can shoot) his guard skills are lacking at this point in his development and with Bisping, WB and Long at 4—I just don’t see much time for a 6’4” power forward. I’m hoping Jimmy opens the offense up a bit to take advantage of our depth – we may be the deepest team in the MAAC this year

Good to hear you come around KK... not sure about your numbers but I have said from Day one that we are a versatile team that defends and will improve scoring. You earn mins with defense and everyone rebounds.
