First off. Como is essentially a Republican elected as a Democrat. He flings about a comment or two like that hoping to appease a pretty annoyed electoral base. Most of his fiscal policies are straight out of the kotch play book. I guess when you take that much money in campaign contributions you had better do as they say

Andrew is a liberal, he may be more to the right than you, but that doesn't make him a republican.

He leans liberal ONLY in things such as same sex marriage and other social issues and that is simply to pander to the party base. When it comes to economic policies he's as conservative as any moderate Republican. Or at least what use to exist as a moderate Republican candidate. Those are the facts and exactly why Koch and other ultra wealthy Right benefactors bought and paid for his election under the disguise of "the Committee to Save New York"

SF - I can see that there are several categories of topics (social issues, fiscal issues, foreign policy) and that a given person could be liberal on some and conservative on others.
That said, Andrew C has been socially liberal and slightly fiscally conservative. He still hasn't done anything on fracking. To call him an R is a stretch. Maybe a NY R but I'd argue there is no opposition party in NYS.

I disagree that Cuomo is a Rep in Dem clothing, but regardless of what anybody may think Cuomo ‘really is’ or whom he accepts money from, he still represents the Democratic Party. He will run on that ticket this year and carries the banner for that party and may even run for the Democratic nomination in 2016. As governor of this state, for him to state that people with certain beliefs are not welcome in NYS is reprehensible. First of all, that's good for encouraging people to continue to stay in this state and not flee to more ‘welcoming’ states. Does he think their tax dollars are tainted as well and does that also go for conservative tourists and the dollars they bring in? But, the dollars should be the least of our worries. The fact that he cannot tolerate opposing opinions should be of concern to everybody. Get him, Obama, the IRS and the NSA together and we may have to worry about what we post here.
What do you think the reaction would be on mainstream media if Rick Perry had said something analogous about liberals in Texas? And, rightfully so, but I've seen little of this on MSNBC or mainstream.

Why do I read this stuff, it's so upsetting. The insanity!!!!!
Really SF, Cuomo a Republican? He is as two faced as any politician, He means what he says, well till he's finished saying it. Now to try to cover it up by saying he was talking about those running for office on the Conservative side......... PLEASE, don't insult our intelligence.
This guy is pure Progressive. He ruined his chance at the Presidency with the safe act so he is going to make NY the GLT, Welfare, Abortion, Atheistic, Capital of the US. Oh, and pretty soon you'll be able to be high watching him do it. I guess the more people that are stoned the easier it will be to pass more insane laws and make outlandish statements that appeal to your constituency.
The FAR FAR left is in charge here. It's not pretty and I hope you hang around to fund it.

LIKE Hilary he is looking at the White House! And like Hilary he has no character! Example: For the life of me I don't understand why Cuomo won't sign " Jessica's Law"! Unless scumbag politics are involved! www.billoreilly.com/jessicaslaw-sight is a bit dated- since then- New Jersey has signed Jessica's Law!

During periods of time in my life I have stopped reading the newspaper and watching the news because I could not believe where the country was heading. The progressives, liberals, democrats, socialists - whatever these guys call themselves-have really destroyed this country. Chris Rock asked his audience during a performance: "What do woman want?" after a long enough pause he says, "EVERYTHING!" I think he meant to say, "what do liberals want?"

Well only a few more years here. We have a house a couple of miles from UNCW, 10 minutes from the beach. I'll trade the MAAC for the CAA for 1200 a year in property taxes. Adios Senior Cuomo.
