Quinny is quick-- I think Siena will struggle with speed of Iona- Quinny and Jaspers-- all 3 teams are considerably faster than Siena.. the big line up is fairly slooooooooooow..but we will have to 'make do" with it this year
Impressive win by Quinny tonight they totally dominated gals

Incredible. ..Baron took 3x as many shots as everyone else on the team.. sorry but that is not a pg lol 21 shots for him and 7 each for his teammates

from the looks of that boxscore he should have shot more... he was 10-21.. some of other that shot 7 times ( Manhertz and Perez) were 1 for 7-- for Griffs to win Baron has to score.. and hey why not Billy is one of best if not the best player in conference. Not sure Baron will make league- but even if he doesn't he will make good money playing hoop somewhere next year

Teams with a scoring pg tend to hit a glass ceiling at some point. I dont think Siena and Marc Brown would agree with that .. and Bennerman wasn't bad either. A lot of teams have success with low scoring PG's but plenty have had success especially when point guard is your best player..and Jimmy has had teams where the point guard was one of his leading scorer- so the reality is it can work either way..depends on team and system

Pstsos does not play a system where the pg shoots more than everyone else. RJ was the pg when his team won the MAAC title and Marquis is simular to him.. Patsos stated publicly that his pg would not score 30pts in games..he used that as a reason to say that Hymes was not a pg... teams dont win championships with the pg taking more shots than his teammates as a norm.

Patsos has had several high scoring point guards over the years- Andre Collins averaged 26 ppg one year ( along with 5 assists a game) Gerald Brown over 20ppg per game( although brown was more like Cormier a combo guard) Brett Harvey -- I agree a lot of teams do not play that way and better teams are usually well balanced-- but in Canisius case Baron is far and away the best player on team- for them to win he has to score
As for Hymes Patsos said he wasnt a PG-- because he is not- it has nothing to do with how many points he scores

You do understand Baron took more shots than anyone on Canisius last year and they won 20 games right? Nobody said you cant win with a pass first PG-- of course you can... and its probably a more preferred way to go , but you can certainly win with a high scoring point, hell Siena won the MAAC title 3 times in a row with Ronald Moore ( beat Patsos like a drum) who seldom shot. Siena has also won and won a game in NCAA with a high scoring PG in Marc Brown - Hofstra did well with Speedy Claxton a high scoring guard or this year Iowa state and DeAndre Kane , Dixon of Memphis, Pangos of Gonzaga, Willaims of New mexico - so dont say you cant win with a high scoring PG because you can and its been proven over and over. Depends on your players, system and coach. Of course when you rely on one player, if he has a bad game you are screwed, on other hand if a player like Baron gets hot he can win the MAAC for canisius ( doubtful but possible)

I agree that you can win with either a scoring PG (Marc Brown) or a pass first PG (Ronald Moore). It depends who you have around him. Baron has to do it all since he is Canisius' best player. Ronald Moore was great but if he had to do all the scoring as well he would not have been nearly as effective.
We have Marquis Wright and he appears to be in the Ronald Moore mold. I can't wait to see him once we get some more talent and experience around him. He does need to get better shooting the ball because if he does he will be a dominant PG.

I give the Quinny fans a pass as it was the night of the Fla. St.-Auburn game. They'd have another chance or two to see them play.

That way. .. When those bad days come, and they will come, someone else can step up. Not to mention. .. is just plain more fun to watch a good TEAM
