I like that line up--- and what we really need especially on the road-- we have to get something out of Hymes- Oliver and Bisping. The 3 of them played almost 40 min against UA and we got 3 points out of them on a banked in 3 pointer by Hymes- all these guys will be role players, but if they can give up 15 points off bench it would be a huge boost for team ..I'm OK with Silas not scoring as long as he continues to rebound ( and not turn over ball)

I like the change with moving Hymes to the bench and White starting.

Say Hymes comes in and scores 15 off the bench then what's the next starting line up? The coach can figure this stuff out. Let him do his job.

One of the shooters off the bench HAVE to come in and put points on the board. Didn't realize Audu had an ankle issue. Honestly, we could probably use him back too. He runs around in transition and can hit an occasional three. He's usually more active than Oliver.
Coming off the bench or not, we need Hymes to put up points.
White will give us defense, rebounding, and get to the rim but with both him and Wright in the same backcourt... shooting isn't a strength. Maybe he can be our Antoine Mason. If Marquis and Maurice can both have a 40% FG% and draw a lot of fouls maybe we'll be ok and the shooting won't matter. They shouldn't be shooting 9 threes a game ever again though. I don't want to see the team over 15 again if we can help it.

That's what you need Hymes to do... Come off the bench give us a spark.

Then that would say the Coach was right and the next starting lineup will likely be the same! The only person that should give a rats pitutie about starting is a player who has started every game of his career and comes into the might-be final game doubtful. It's a "team" sport - 5 guys start and 8-9-10 play, some with more minutes than one or more of the starters.

I also think Jimmy is gonna keep bringing Silas off the bench but if he controls the TOs, he might average more mins than JO in doing so.
After 1 game:
JO is averaging 2.5 boards per 30 mins. Silas is averaging 13.8 boards per 30 mins.
I'd say it was a one game fluke if it weren't for the fact JO wasn't a good rebounder over the 6 exhibition games either. JO is the better offensive option but can we afford to give up the rebounding if this continues? Something else to watch for. He's got to crash the boards.

Pretty sure you are going to see a 2 headed monster out there at Center- JO will be fine as long as he can stay out of foul trouble ..As for the averages ..C'mon its one game. Problem with Silas is the offense really bogs down when he is in there, he isn't much of a threat and when he tries to so to much he turns ball over. I tend to agree JO will start and SIlas might end up getting more min. Silas seems much more comfortable coming in off bench. I honestly think we will be fine at Center. We need some offense from Hymes- Oliver- Bisping. Those guys have got to put some points on board. I kind of like Hymes coming in off bench to provide a spark. If he buys into it, could work very well. except for brief moments I think its going to be difficult for Hymes to play the two- because teams will go right at him..again unless he starts putting some serious effort into defensive side of ball

I think JO is a 6 board a game type center, not an 8+ board a game guy. If he surprises me, great.
It's just what I see.

The four frosh didn't take too long to materialize. I like Silas off the bench and I bet Hymes does better in the Tay F role,
I really want to see Wolfe get some meaningful minutes now that he's not going to RS. He's far to athletic to sit on the bench. You've committed to playing him this year so do so .......

It's just what I see. 6 boards a game for a freshmen Center is great- I'd take that in a heart beat - I cant remember the last time( if ever) we had a freshmen Center Center ( 6'8" or over) avg 6 boards a contest- I know RR And OD were around 3 boards a game a freshmen -

If Wolfe's in the game then Long isn't (unless Long moves over to the 3). If JO & Imoh are 5s and Wolfe is allowed to play the 5, who would you rather have as the 5. Remember JO & Imoh are better defenders (at this point). If Long slides over to the 3 then Poole won't be the 3. If Poole slides over to the 2 to make room for Wolfe (4)' Long (3) then White isn't on the court. This is probably the reason why Jimmy was thinking of RSing him. Depth at his position. Bisping also plays the (4), & while not athletic, understands the system. IMO, it's likely Wolfe May see some of Bisping's mins subbing at the 4. I agree Wolfe is very athletic, but can he defend at this level? Is he strong enough to not get pushed by Albany & VT? I don't know, but if this season is a true rebuilding one, I'm starting to come around to others who want to play the freshmen to get them experience for next year, when we should do some damage. I'm still not counting out this year. We could jive by end of Feb just in time for MAAC tourney.

He can get minutes at the 4 Lavon played abiut 35 vs UA he should get 10 min it shouldn't be that difficult to work him in...He could give Lavon a blow or lavon could slide to 3 to give Poole a blow. not all that hard,
