I have mixed feelings on this. For one thing, I have always liked the college game better than the pros because it seems like the kids are more in to it for the love of the game, and not the money. These days, the "kids" are in it for the money too, and most of that is our own fault. I'm not sure if the NBA players are not playing hard, or if it just seems like that. Because they are pros their movements are more efficient. I don't think there has been much change in effort from the 90s or "thuggish" behavior compared to today.

Pro game has changed - it is now more player focused then team focused ... I'm now down to just watching semi & finals

See growing in the 90's! Saturday was about Jordan, Magic, Larry, Ewing, Shaq, Reggie Miller Karl Malone..etc. And time and time again.. these icons would come together and put away their personal stats to win in the ENTIRE season. You just don't see that now!

There's always going to be 2 problems know "Who's the Greatest?"
1) We don't have time machines to have athletes, no matter their sport, compete against each other in their prime. 2) The (ahem) favorable treatment the MEGA stars always get in sports - especially basketball. We will never have a true straight-up fair competition. Phil Jackson complained enough that Jordan ended up being the beneficiary of more phantom fouls than anyone I can remember. He undeniably deserves to be in the conversation but the refs favorably impacted for the Bulls 100s of his games...
That being said I love this kind of debate. My vote goes to Magic. He was the most complete, versatile ball player ever in my opinion.
