I agree that Wright has all of the pressure on him playing all those minutes ..Patsos has decided to let him learn on the job..Wright will be the pg for the next 4 years ....this is a big part of his preparation I agree with that. The kid can get to the rim, draw fouls, and force turnovers. Once he gets chemistry and that historically good assist ratio finds him again he should be fine and we'll take a big jump as a team. These kids are playing with only a few practices under their belts, learning a new coach and new system, playing with different rules in a foreign country against teams who get to practice year round. +1-- might be your best ever- and right on the mark!!

Did I just die? I think I see Ryan Oliver.

I'm not knocking effort or chemistry. I understand JPs looking at options. But when the season starts Hymes should come off the bench and log minutes as a back up pg. The 2 spot should be split between White Oliver Audu and maybe Hymes for the occasional deep ball spark. I don't like the small back court (MW & Hymes), Wright is going to be very good, not worried about him a lick! PPC sorry but Lavon is not a PG, maybe in an energency ok but you won't see he run the Saints O for any length of time.

Great to talk basketball with actual games in the dog days of August..too bad foreign trips are only allowed by the NCAA once every four years instead of every two. I think we'll be a work in progress all season long. We will win some games we probably shouldn't and lose some games we shouldn't.
I think the freshmen will be really fun to watch as they develope. Marquis Wright looks to be in the Ronald Moore mold (not saying he'll be as good or better) but he has the tools to be a very successful winning D1 PG. Don't know if Lavon will play with the ball in his hand, SF or PF but I see a lot of Michael Haddix and Alex Franklin in him. Javion looks very solid in the limited highlights I've seen and can sore the basketball. Wolfe has not played much but if he doesn't redshirt could be a key component as well. Adding Maurice White and potentially Pat Cole could really make us a tough team and maybe even a darkhorse contender.

Lavon proved to his coach that he can play 1-4...That is what HC Jimmy Patsos just said in his interview...you can disagree but its his team so I'll go with that

Patsos also said he was most impressed with Oliver and Audu both getting minutes at the 2 I would guess...Oliver hit 3 3s I Believe

Jimmy is assessing the players correctly. I attended Ronald's debut at NJIT and he truly bombed. We all know how he turned out. 1Indian, "Rome wasn't built in a day".

The fact is - this team is longer and way more athletic than we have seen in 3 years. We're young and will only get better, adding White will make us bigger and even more athletic. I agree with MTS that we will beat better teams and lose some we should win. The future is bright and can't wait for UAlbany in November. If JO evolves rapidly we could be tough because the MAAC doesn't have many guys his size who can play. With Jimmy's whims, I could see some guys playing a lot one game and much less another based on match ups and his mood.

That's exactly what he did at Loyola ...starting lineup changed alot and starting did not mean major minutes..the most valuable will be in the game at crunch time...and we are a long way away from knowing what that combination is

Dwight was a great player. Too bad the corrupt NCAA only gave him one year.

All I know is that, on the nicest day of the year, I kept coming inside to get an update on an exhibition game. The excitement is back even if I expect this is a "bridge" year. Go Saints!
