....for a lack of a legit 6'1"-6'2" scoring guard with some experience.
Wright is the real deal, and will make guys around him better ala Moore, but he needs a legit running partner too. Right now we don't have one for him.
Please save the, "Poole is an 2G" analysis. He's not. He'd struggle bigtime covering the 2G's in our league, and his handle is below average. He's a SF, and a decent one, but he won't fill the lane with Wright running fast breaks.

No doubt we still need to address that with the two 'ships we have open. White is potentially that guy if he signs (this is far from a done deal, BTW). If White doesn't come hopefully we find someone else at SG..an athletic guy who can shoot in the 6'1-6'3 range as you mentioned. Would be nice to get a transfer who could get a hardship or a graduate for one season but Siena's lack of graduate programs really hurts us. Problem not a lot of talented freshmen out there this late.

I'd rather have a Jr or Sr eligible. Could really use an experienced scorer in this transition season.

What's up w/ White? Id like to see him at Siena and thought he told Patsos he's coming. So why is it far from a done deal? Anybody have an idea? His coach said he was getting sniffs from Miami and GTown. Could that be it......

I think Audu will be a solid player under Jimmy's system. Don't forget he made some big threes for us last year, and he can sure as hell run and jump to fill the lane on the break. If we secure White, I think we are in pretty good shape at the 2, even if Oliver ends up being limited by his knee.

I guess I just restated the obvious. We're ok if White comes. If he doesn't, we need more help at the 2 for sure.

I'm assumming White comes. STILL need a smaller off guard type with experience. Not a big fan of two freshman guards and Hymes as our backcourt.
Audu may be better (if he improves his handle), but I'm not expecting anything from Oliver with the serious knee issue.

Mitch, the gift that keeps on giving. Recruits two "2" guards last year, one who is a definite reach/project and the other who is a reach with a known knee injury. Looking forward to two years from now when Jimmy will be getting players well above typical MAAC caliber players.

I said when the PW was fired; his legacy of recruiting would haunt us for a few years. It’s amazing how God awful his recruiting was

I said when the PW was fired; his legacy of recruiting would haunt us for a few years. It’s amazing how God awful his recruiting was I don't think Buonaguro's recruiting was that bad. Silas chose Siena over an offer from Colorado St. and Audu chose Siena over an offer from Creighton. Brookins was rated a 90 on ESPN's old scale. It's not like all his recruits were won in recruiting battles over NEC schools. I think his style of play simply had a way of making good players look bad. I think we're going to al lbe pleasently surprised at the talent some of these guys will display now that they'll finally be allowed to play instead of walking the ball up the court and waiting around for someone to take a bad shot in the halfcourt.

Get off the Hyme's kick. The PW and Lanier loved small guards. Hyme's looked good his freshman year thanks to Downey. Let's ditch PW small guards.
