I may be a little old fashion but Siena made a commitment to Jiggets and I feel it should be honored until it is no longer an option. I am not saying one player is better than the other, just that until Jiggets commits to another school he is still a part of Siena. Also Patsos is bringing in good MAAC players from Loyola but I would like to see him steal some players that had originally committed to a BCS school and are rated higher than than what we are getting. There have been a lot of coaching changes out there and I would assume there have been good players that have a change of heart. Jiggetts is the one no longer honoring his commitment. He asked for his release - and it has been granted. He ain't coming back. Do you really expect Patsos to sit and wait for him in case he changes his mind, passing up every other opportunity in the meantime? And when Jiggetts stays gone and it's too late for Siena to get anyone else decent, what will you say then about Patsos? As for getting players who originally committed to BCS schools, are you for real? When have you ever seen such a player on Siena's roster? My initial reaction on some of Patsos' recruits was not so great. But I myself was surprised how similar to past Siena players these incoming recruits are when I looked into them more. Wright is 1st team all-met - a group in which every other player than him are going to high-major schools and is ranked 426 on Hoopscoop. Maurice White is 338. Lavon Long 6'7" is 461. To provide perspective, Rossiter was ranked 485. Anosike was ranked 328. Alex Franklin 397. Ronald Moore 581. Trenity Burdine was 374. So far, Patsos' recruiting is actually right in line with what McCaffery was bringing in for the most part - and considering it's April/May, Siena is pretty lucky getting these guys this late. What Patsos needs is his Ubiles or Basabe - that 1 player in a recruiting class you don't often see in the MAAC.

Article on Jiggetts: www.dmvelite.com/news/jiggetts-wright-trading-places-sienaMoney quote: Jiggetts played the 2 in high school and AAU ball. I don't know why Mitch had intended him to be a point guard project. It's probably best that we parted ways amicably. I hope he finds what he's looking for.

Yeah, I found that quote by the father odd as well. All the kid played his whole career was the 2, and he's listed on every recruiting site as a 2 - but now all of a sudden he can't play the 2? I suspect this decomitment has nothing to do with Marquis Wright coming on board and has everything to do with the verbal of Maurice White, who actually plays the same position as Jiggetts. It's a shame, because he would have been a good player for Siena. But there is a bit of a logjam at the 2.

IMO Jiggetts lacks the self confidence to compete against Wright for the pg position.

I would like to remind some individuals how far and from where, we have come from in the last month. I am thrilled with the quality of the players and the quality of the individuals that have been recruited. To me, it's almost unbelieveable how far we have come. If asked 3 or four weeks ago, I don't think there is a member of this board that wouldn't have been extremely pleased to have our basketball program where it is right now. I think we should be very thankful for what a great job JP and his staff is doing. He has gotten us out of a friggin' mess and I don't see anything that isn't positive. Good things are coming! I think we're going to look back in three or four years and be very happy where we are at. At least most of us.

When Jiggetts signed, his competion at the guard positions were:
1 - Hymes, Brookins (minutes), Leppanen 2 - Brookins, Audu, Oliver
Now, as it stands, his competition for playing time would be: 1 - Hymes, Wright, Leppanen 2 - Poole (per JP), White, Audu, Oliver
I think MB sold Jiggets on having the ball in his hands as a scoring 1. He would have had two juniors ahead of him at his position, one of which (Brookins) Started at the 2 and had chronic back problems. Minutes at the PG position were clearly there for the taking.
Now, the hobbled PG back-up (Brookins) has been replaced by a pure PG that A. the new coach clearly favors as he was his recruit, B. is the same grade as Jiggets, meaning competing for minutes all 4 years vs. 2, and C. Jiggetts obviously aware of Wright's abilities knowing their personal connection.
If he was being told he'd be competing for the SG spot now instead of the PG spot, he'd now be competing against four scholarship players for that position.
You could say he lacked the confidence that he could win his minutes, but I understand & respect his decision to look elsewhere. I wish him luck in any game that doesn't involve Siena.

Wolfeyy @hey_Stretch At the airport getting ready to come back Interesting...with the smiley face that tweet could be taken to have two very different meanings. Any other indicators out there in the social media world?
