Baptism by fire – all the freshmen will get a good taste of what it’s like to be a Siena Saint

He is reconsidering the prep route ...If he decides to visit he will be the next recruit on campus with a good chance of signing .....you are not allowed to sign on campus ...they have to fax or email the documents ...you sign and send them back ..... A question for you...What are your thoughts on class balance? Do you sign talented kids regardless of position/year etc or would that factor in the equation. I dont believe you need to worry about the classes with a new staff coming in...the new coach needs to get as many players that fit his system as possible the first year ...after that you can look for balance so your entire team is not graduating together

Agree - this could work out well. Help me here, cuz with all the recent changes I've got confused. Assuming Evan stays and Jiggetts is gone, I assume we have one open scholarship. Is that right? We have two open currently. One of them COULD go to Maurice White. If White comes I think we're done for the year with 12 'ships used. If not perhaps we look to add a transfer or someone else or just hold the two for the fall. Assuming no roster changes it will be that way for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons as we have no seniors. Of course there usually is some movement with every roster in college basketball after every season. Technically, Siena has one scholly open at the moment if we assume Jiggetts has been given his release. White has already committed. He hasn't signed a letter of intent yet - but neither has Long or Wright (who both can't). So he's just as committed as they are. If they use the last one (and I think they should), it has to go to a big man. The team only has 3 players taller than 6'7 and one of them isn't really a back to the basket post player. Though I'm not crazy about having a 5 person recruiting class, I think it's fair to say this team can use as much fresh talent as it can get. I cannot believe it'll be 2 years before this team graduates any seniors. Buonaguro is the gift that keeps on giving.

If this crop of freshmen start winning from day 1 we will all be glad the way the classes fell together. It sure looks talented right now. This also gives the coaches time to really zero in on players that will benefit the team down the road.

I'm no expert but it seems to me that getting talent to win is primary and balance is secondary. Log jams always seem to work themselves out.
Hopefully we will all have a short winter next year. With the addition of the new coach and his coaching philosophy together with the freshman class and the possible a-10 move, it is looking very positive. I think Siena is close to breaking that glass ceiling that has prevented consistency and advancement to the next level. These are going to be exciting times.

Sienafan the paperwork for Wright and Long has already been sent and will be processed Monday morning ...add Javion and that makes 3 incoming freshman so far correct....I have heard about 3 other commitments to Patsos .....Wolfe, Marko, and White.....I would think the players who visit are the ones they want ...like I said earlier I hope it's Wolfe for my own selfish reasons lol

I like Wolfe. Marko eh. Mike Wolfe is #25 in white. He would definitely be a contributor.

Think he's better than J.O? I haven't seen enough of J.O. to know his full game but from a "look" standpoint and an athleticism standpoint, I'm certainly leaning that way. Wolfe is bouncier and quicker, not to mention longer. J.O. looks more 6-7 to me based on the picture PPC took with Lavon. I don't count hair. They both shot about 67% from the FT line this year. They both have a jumper. I lean towards the better athlete for sure.

Ogunyemi was asked by one of his friends on Twitter how tall he was last year and he replied 6'8. 67% from the line by Siena's frontcourt will be a luxury compared to what we've been used to. I'll take it. Patsos is pretty high on Ogunyemi and has remarked he's starting for what it's worth. For someone so bouncy, quick, and long, Wolfe sure didn't have a lot of Div. 1 interest compared to J.O. Just sayin'.
