Snag.. I’m not here to tell you how to be a fan…you have to do what you think is right. I dropped my premium seats after( the coach formerly known as program wreckers) 1st year. Now that he is gone, I’ve renewed the seats. I too am concerned about the trajectory of the MAAC- which has been in a downward spiral for some time. But the best way I can support the team and make a move to the A10 possible is by renewing my seats. Plus I expect the games to be fun once again this year. We probably won’t win them all at home this year, but I’m guessing the team will be fun to watch, play hard and be "well coached" and as a fan that’s all I can ask for. I hope you’re there… but it’s your choice for sure – but the TUC will be rocking once again this year !! Tony, I couldn't agree with you more. I'm also pre D I and have never had my spirit tested like it has been this year. But if you're devoted to a team you can't stop supporting them when they need you the most. I would feel I let the kids down if I wasn't there to give them the support they need at the game. One thing we have heard and read over and over the last few weeks in the media is what a great place Albany is to coach and play. They all have boasted that this is the place to be because we support our team even when they're not winning. That and of course the facilities are the reasons why we had a nice choice of coaches to select from. I feel that our loyal fans are one of the reasons why we will get out of this mess faster than most schools would. You're not helping the kids and the program by watching the game home on your tv. That really isn't support. The team needs us and I can't wait to be there cheering in the fall for JP and our NEW team.

Snag---your name should be Sourpuss as you exhibit the attitude of a bandwagon jumper. I'm a white/blue hair that's followed the Indians/Saints as an 11 year old boy at the Armory/Gibbons Hall/ARC/Knick/Pepsi/TUC since the '54-'55 season. I've attended Siena games in 16 states, 9 states more than once. I got my moniker from a local high school ref because of my loyal following of the team. I've suffered through many losing seasons with the team.

It will be interesting to see what Davidson’s BoT does. Last year they brought CAA membership to the BoT- Davidson was all but in the CAA and the Board rejected the offer. Apparently Davidson will have to make huge upgrades. Many of their sports have volunteers as coaches, and as we know the A10 requires a certain amount of coaches for all sports, they are struggling to pay for athletic additions , and they don’t even stream their home games( a small thing but shows you where their athletic dept is) they charge 20 bucks a ticket for best center court seats. Apparently the A10 will give Davidson some time to bring their paid coaches, scholarships etc up to A10 levels. I’m not saying Davidson isn’t going, all I’m saying its far from a slam dunk, Davidson does not have the infrastructure in place to be a competitive A10 program. Not saying they can’t do it, only that it will cost them millions a year to make move. Last year McKillop was lukewarm at best about move to CAA- telling the board they would have to change type of kid they recruited. For those of you that don’t know Davidson has very high standards for admissions even for athletes ( similar to Patriot league teams) On the other hand the southern conf is a mess- so quite possibly the BoT approves the move. But if they do Davidson will have a lot of work to do

Both D'Arg and Fr. Kevin indicated to me that the C7 was not happening. Get that hope/thought out of your head if you're thinking it. I tend to agree with Tony. Here's what we know as fact: a) The MAAC replaced 1 departure with 2 schools b) Siena is spending a boat load of money on facilities upgrades c) Fr. Kevin and D'Arg have both indicated they'd be open to discussion if the A10 calls...but they haven't called.
Here's what is rumored: a) The Big East has more expanding to do with SLU and 1 other A10 team on the list b) Siena would need to pay a buyout if they left for this year. Less or none if it is for the following year c) Siena is rumored in multiple outlets to be headed to the A10

The most important thing for the program's future is a jump to the A-10. It doesn't matter what recruits Jimmy brings in or how much the team improves next year (or the year after) the upgrade in conference is key to future success. I don't think the C7 is even a remote possibility, but it seems like there is real interest in us joining the A-10. We need to have the administration take this seriously and I'd love to hear Jimmy get on board with the move as well. Go Saints!
