Certainly the home court is an advantage. The experts put it at about 3.5 to 4.5 points. It is not like it is an insurmountable obstacle that would/should preclude the use of a significantly superior venue. The presidents were extremely shortsighted and just wrong in their decision. Small thinkers from a business perspective, but what else can you expect from small time academics?

Certainly the home court is an advantage. The experts put it at about 3.5 to 4.5 points. Bill, I think those numbers are about right for a regular season game, but I'm not so sure they apply to conference tournaments. During a tournament game at the TUC the "road" team usually has cheerleaders, a pep band, the team mascot, students, parents, family, friends, etc. in attendance. It's a whole different atmosphere then your typical regular season game at the TUC. If having the MAAC Tournament at the TUC was as much of an advantage for Siena as many people seem to think, you would have seen them win it a few more times when they weren't the top seed (it only happened once). And you would have never seen them lose it when they were the top seed, as they have done twice. Anyway, it's probably not worth discussing anymore as I doubt you'll see Siena hosting another tournament game anytime soon. Unless, of course, the A-10 decides to bring their conference tournament to the TUC.

Just to get this thread back on track has anyone heard if Patsos has a take on an A10 move. I thought it was posted that he kind of danced around the subject when asked.....

He spoke of it in the Feinstein interview. Basically said if asked Siena would be very interested in being in the A10, but that the MAAC is a good conference. Same party line as the administration before he was hired.

Team that goes to NCAA's get 70K and 20 K a game after that.. for one year-- rest goes to conference... not a very fair set up.
