here is the tweet.. and here is the deal nobody connected to Siena will say anything about the A10 until an official invite is on the table
D'Argenio said the A-10 rumors did come up with coaching candidates: "Since there's really nothing there, it was hard to talk about it."
and since we have no official invite Darg is correct. I will remind people here..on Mar14th of this year the President of Creighton said he had no contact with the New Big East- Mar 21st they were in the new big east. In January of this year Butler said they had no contact with C7.. in beginning of March Brad Steven said he knew nothing about a possible big east move- 3 weeks later they were in Big East . Last April both the president and AD of VCU said they had no contact with the A10 and were perfectly happy in CAA- 5 weeks later they were in the A10. It takes weeks to transfer conferences contracts have to be drawn up, budgets made, board of visitors or trustee approval, Exit and entry fee monies lined up etc the whole procedure take weeks if not months.. For legal and ethical reasons the going line is to deny deny deny until you have an official invite. Just the way its done by all schools

I get everyone wanting all the info, to know timelines, expectations, etc but conference alignment comments are handled just like contracts and business deals in general....

latest tweet from Rothstein
Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein 8m
Any potential expansion in the Atlantic 10 will likely include Siena or Davidson, per a source. Either school would be a strong addition.

Until you have an official invite no such thing as a lock. I doubt Davidson would go to A10 anyway. Small budget, ( they would have to double it) lost class time.. they are currently in a bus league. And they are in heart of ACC territory. Hang tight for a few more weeks

Tony you were right about Patsos and you've posted a few times now about sitting tight regarding the A10. Are you speculating or basing this on something you've been hearing? I'm getting the vibe u might have an inside track.......

I said it the day that patsos was hired that it was not the move that screams advancement to a higher conference. Jimmy's has grown on me since the hire but overall I don't think siena is going anywhere anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong.

After digesting all the info over the past few days I'm getting the sense that the Rice situation was rumored to blow and D'Arg was privy to that info. There is no way he was hiring Toole w/ the potential blow back to RMU. Rhoades is going to be an excellent HC someday. I wish it was us but its not the direction we took. I think Siena was after D 1 HC experience so Patsos was the safe hire.
As far as the A10 goes I think it's possible although Davidson is an outstanding program that has been very successful over the past decade. I believe they are 7 of 10 20+ win seasons. My fingers are crossed I'm not a MAAC fan!

Relax guys. If it's meant to be, it'll be. Mitch's tenure didn't do the school any favors, so if they don't get invited it's a self-inflicted wound. You surely couldn't blame them for choosing a consistent Davidson program over an up and down Siena one. That said, I don't know if the A-10 presidents will vote to take a school that far south over one in NY when the league is obviously constricting into a northeast-based one.

Simply put, Siena can put more butts in Barclays Center seats than Davidson can.

And not just a few more butts thousands more And hooligan has been on crusade since Jimmy was hired that the hire means Siena isn't going anywhere.I dont agree but we are all entitled to our opinions( no matter how wrong they are

And while Davidson is a great program they have only been led by one coach Bob McKillop in the past 20 years. Siena has proven they can win with multiple coaches (of course we've had a few really bad ones too). Davidson might be completely different when McKillop leaves.
As Ed said Siena will draw much better than Davidson can. While VCU-Richmond-George Mason-George Washington might want Davidson you have to think SBU, URI, UMass, Duquense and Fordham want Siena for sure. Maybe even LaSalle and St. Joe's fall into the Siena catagory too.
The rumor is Davidson wants conditions (i.e. travel partner like a Charleston) to join - Siena doesn't need/want any conditions. Of course Davidson's current league the SoCon just taken a lot of hits so they might be willing just to jump at anything.
I do know it's time to get out of the MAAC..it has run it's course!
