Think a large part of NIL programs is to connect specific athletes to local businesses for sponsorship deals … these deals would lean heavy toward Siena basketball programs in this market … SAINTS Alive (school based fundraising) allows donors to earmark donations to specific program or general (all programs) NIL is also to collect money to pay the the players. Saints alive goes to to the school. I’m not sure exactly what you were trying to clarify. Both can be specifically designated to a certain sport. Large Part of NIL: Business Sponsorships - tied to individual (s) & specific business Remainder of NIL Funds:Cash to individual athletes NIL Saints Alive (school base fundraising for PROGRAMS) … allows donor to specify program… inference that NIL would allow same

Pretty sure Frank Ambrose clarified this previously , NIL money is available to all student athletes but vast majority will be funneled to men’s basketball.
Issue is, there is new management of the NIL and, if the guy from Syracuse is ponying up significant money, they still have to figure out the budget.
Let the process play out. There are still like 1000 kids in the portal and more to come. This is gmacs livelihood, he is working hard to put a competitive team on the floor.
I would love to see more signings already in place, the two already committed are an excellent start.

Frank also posted that if you want money directed to a particular sport all you need to do is send an email after you make the donation. I also believe they are working on building this capability into the site.

As a matter of fact we even have donors who target specific players, and that can be accommodated as well. In the meantime, just use the email link on the website and let us know if you want your donation targeted. Just for context, last year we placed over 85% of everything collected to men's basketball. Donations that went to other sports were specifically made for those sports (lacrosse being one of them). We also want to be sure we are engaged in women's basketball in a meaningful way, but the most important thing to remember is that NIL provides maximum flexibility to you for your dollars donated. We also expect to have a tax deductible avenue to contribute to the Saints March On before the end of the summer, if not sooner.

I hope that puts any "concerns" to rest and we can just move on here.

The ADD on here is amazing! Can we ever stay on topic? Case in point, this is one is titled "Welcome Peter Carey" and it has morphed into a discussion on NIL funding. SMH.
