The recruiting thing is a tricky thing to figure out. Patsos has put together a nice team at Loyola, and I would have to say they seem to be quality kids with a little grittiness (read: Olson).
Patsos' recruiting ability would make a big jump if he were to get the job, based on the arena and fan support alone. If he could turn Loyola into a contender in the MAAC, he could turn Siena into a power.
If we go to the A-10? Who knows? I think he could succeed there as well. In any case, I really like his public persona and his candor with the media. He is obviously an intelligent guy, if perhaps a bit bombastic (perfect description; thanks!). That would really be refreshing compared to Mitch who, despite his supposed X's & O's acumen and "good guy" reputation, came off in the media like a dumb a$$.
Honestly, I would be excited with a hire of either Toole or Patsos. I would be a little anxious with a hire of Rhoades; I just don't know enough about him.
Then again, I was anxious when they hired Fran, too.

Patsos is in Albany already or will be soon. If he is in Albany he is awfully early... tomorrow is good Friday.. Easter this weekend..no way Siena is talking to anyone before Monday You might have to report D'Arg to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, but I suspect he's still working.

Hire Patsos, he has coached and has been far more successful in a better league. Toole comes in 2nd.

Hmmmm. RMU wants him. Hofstra wants him. We want him. I'm nto sure Siena has a bidding war in them. Hofstra is a good job but the CAA isn't what it was. RMU can build but from the looks of it they would be building to what we already are and maybe not even that. If Siena is looking at the A10, the upside is WAY higher here than at either RMU or Hofstra - even if the paycheck is only moderately - if at all. The NEC conference RPI is such that he will never get an at-large from there. It is unlikely in the MAAC too but has happened on occassion. In the A10 it will be much more likely. It comes down to what he wants and how comfortable he is winning 3 games in March. Of course he may be happy at RMU and just be negotiating a health raise.

sounds like a plea to instill some level of guilt in Toole. As I felt with McCaffery when he went on. You cant fault a man for making this kind of move for his future and family. I think if Toole does come it is a pretty clear indicator that Siena is A10 bound. I expect Siena to have, at most, one final year in the MAAC. as far as RMU is concerned, get use to it. You want to move up the ranks and enter true mid-major status... this comes with the territory

I said it before. We are going to wind up with Patsos through attrition. Toole is going to stay put.

I think if Toole does come it is a pretty clear indicator that Siena is A10 bound. If he is Siena's choice, I absolutely agree.

I really don't have a dog in this fight but the writing on the wall says that the Patsos' supporters are going to be disappointed.
I could be wrong but it doesn't look or feel that way.
Time to support the new coach?
I guess if you're a real fan.

Time to support the new coach? I guess if you're a real fan. BGD on target here and most will move in that direction. Either you can be or choose to be a Siena fan or you can choose not to be a Siena fan or choose to be a disgruntled Siena fan. The latter, to me, is not fun, witness the last three years. Better to move on than to hang on and be disgruntled/miserable. JMO.
