EVERY year, you should have a walk on that was a legit PG in HS. PG is like QB in football and Catcher in baseball. IF 2 or 3 go down for some reason, you better have a kid that can handle the ball in a pinch. Do you have eligibility left?

Almost all the pieces are in place, now the work has to be put in during the two summer sessions to mold them into a playing unit. If mts is right and one spot is already filled, I’d go for a plus 3 point shooter for the last spot. (Think Scott Knapp or Tay Fisher) Saints have a plethora of wings and bigs, but you can never have too many shooters.

He would have been a nice addition with our last spot. The kid can shoot it from three.

Hopefully, we will have the final two spots filled before the next dead period, which I believe starts on the 16th. I think the NIL has really slowed down the process. Agents are involved now and there are a lot of back and forth negotiations that have to take place.

Oh my I hardly ever read the recruiting threads because 9 times out of 10 our former coach would pick some joker that nobody had in 25 pages, but looks like I missed some juicy stuff lately 😂

Seems like Gerry won’t rush to fill last ship right away and will look to see what shakes out. He made it clear we have to have 12-13 players

on the NIL zoom call Coach McNamara said the roster should be mostly full by the end of the week, but he was going to be patient with the last piece. (whatever that means)
The NIL folks and the coach both think the NIL will move to longer term contracts with players to try to get some continuity on the team and that it is likely there will be "salary caps" set up in the longer term. But that in the interim Siena needs a strong NIL program to stay relevant until the contract and salary structure is put in place.
The coach wants to get up games with A-10 and Big East teams in the future, but this year's schedule only had one open slot.
The coach also said that he think that the staff will go 9-9 with the recruits they had on campus and targeted for roster spots. If so that is a great sales job. Both coaches (men's and women's) said that the biggest issue with recruits is housing. A lot of school they compete against offer apartments or private rooms with en suite bathrooms whereas Siena athletes share common dorm rooms with the regular student population. McNamara said he chose Syracuse over Villanova because of the apartment at Syracuse vs the dorm room at Villanova.

Need to start a capital campaign asap to build luxury condos on campus for our STUDENT athletes

Ironic, because in his interview Gerry said that he is currently sharing lodging with two others(assistants?) and sleeping on rubber mattresses.

I think that there are apartment like student housing units at Siena and that basketball players have lived in them. Maybe it took more than one year of attendance to move into one.

Most of the Town Houses are empty. Summer is used for maintenance and prep for the fall. If thr college admin wanted to support basketball. Both ladies and men or could make two of the houses available for a month or so until the staff finds suitable family housing. Rumor has it that coaches are sleeping on blow up mattresses. Rumor also has it that the administration supports basketball. Let’s have a meeting of the bureaucracy at the college and welcome these new men and women like the family we want them to be.
My daughter and currently my grandson lived in the town houses They are very nice.
