Any news on the Almonor visit If there were you can be sure it would be posted here. He is probably off to Tulsa for his visit. All we can hope for is that McNamara made his best case/offer and that Almonor doesn't like the "culture" in Oklahoma.

Heard Tulsa is out for Almonor. Likely Iona is too.
But there is a midmajor school on the west coast that is involved.
Unless it’s St. Mary’s or something I like our chances. He liked GMAC, Siena offered a very good NIL deal and he’s from New York.
Also it appears our assistants will be—
Ben Lee — Former Washington AC Ryan Blackwell — Syracuse area HS HC Arinze Onuaku — Gonzaga prep (DC) Ryan Beaury— Syracuse video coordinator
Looks like a good staff only concern is maybe it is too Syracuse centric and their familiarity with the mid-major recruiting scene.

Maybe the Syracuse recruiting process which is looking at three star and higher players will result in more three star recruits landing at Siena. Not a bad thing.

Interesting possibility Spencer Mahoney freshman at Washington State. Previously recruited by Syracuse and Siena. From New York. Got little PT at his first stop. Working against him is that he is a 6'9" forward and that slot may already have been addressed.

I like the DC connection and if they are all tight with GMAC we have a better chance of the staff not turning over every year so we can build some continuity on the recruiting front.

I’m surprised we’re only getting 1 support staff coach. Was hoping we would get 3 (DOBO, Special Assist, Director of player development) with the extra $125k GMac got for his assistant pool. Also would have loved to see him hire an associate head coach.

Did he really get a larger assistant pool than Carm? The composition of this staff screams more like the head coach took all the money.
This is a massive gamble by McNamara.

All tied to Syracuse in one way or the other. Blackwell and Lee come with a pretty good rep. Onuaku I know nothing about. I’ll give Gmac the benefit of doubt here, let’s see who we sign.

Hopefully he wants to back East.

Q for 1480.....what are your thoughts on the kid from Haldane, Matthew Nachamkin? Looks like a very good athlete that can shoot for 6'8". Says in his profile, he's only 17? Would be a nice prep school candidate.....maybe for 2 years like Beagle did at STM.

Former four star Siena PG recruit Denver Anglin is in the portal. Signed with Georgetown and got little run, transferred to SMU and redshirted with "stress reaction" in is foot. Don't know where he is looking/expecting to go.

Would be a nice prep school candidate.....maybe for 2 years like Beagle did at STM. 3 sport athlete and just won the class C co-player of the year in New York. Not a traditional 6’8 kid. Doesn’t have a very strong desire to play in the post. Kid can really shoot the ball. Money is no issue with them, so they are trying to set him up for life after college. Last I heard he was deciding between Williams and Wesleyan. I would definitely make a phone call, but I’m not sure he would want to go prep. I’ll put it this way he is as good or better than Jason Schofield who redshirted at Marist this past year. Kid has been really well coached in high school, and has a good basketball IQ. He is a wing though, not a post player.

If he's got a handle, a 6-8 wing that can shoot is a pretty good get.

But if setting the kid up for life after basketball is the goal, a cost effective alternative is take a DI scholarship and go to grad school in the Ivy league. Much cheaper and still sets you up for life after basketball.
