Just heard on ESPN that there is a growing push from some coaches to the NCAA to allow seniors involved in winter or spring sports the option of returning for one more season and extending their eligibility based on the highly unusual circumstances of these cancellations.

It's a no brainer for the spring sports, just allow any team to go over their scholarship limit for any senior that returns. For basketball I'm not so sure, they still got the majority of their season and many teams got their entire season. Maybe for the winter sports you allow only seniors who never used a redshirt year to get a 5th year of eligibility.

More downside to this ending is siena not in the post season and all of the national exposure that goes with it. That is immeasurable. While a great season by any measure... The ending comes at a significant cost. I agree that I would have rather seen Siena get the postseason exposure this year but don’t believe it’ll come at a significant cost. Agree it would have been better exposure but don’t necessarily agree with an “significant costs” for lack of exposure.

No guarantee we pick up where we left off. I get the feel Carm is sorta in the Fran mold - lackluster early going with a strong Jan/Feb/March. No complaints here, I'll take it. I also think losing Burns and Friday is gonna really hurt - especially early. Young will get there but he's probably another year away. I believe we’ll pick up where we left off and be MAAC champions next year as well. We have not lost Sammy yet; he still has one more year of eligibility remaining and last I heard he wanted to return. If that’s the case, I’ve never heard of Siena not allowing a player to stay for their 5th year. So, until it’s officially announced; Sammy’s still in the team for next year.

do we know Friday isn't coming back? I do not. In fact the last I heard is that he wanted to come back. Someone at the Marist game appeared to hear that Sammy wanted to return for his final year of eligibility.

Sadly, so am I. Well, in reruns. and always the argument, who was hotter.....................Samantha of Bewitched or Jeannie of I Dream of Jeannie..............much like the conundrum of choosing Ginger or MaryAnn of Gilligans Island.............perhaps all of this can be a thread unto itself..................ROTFLOL................... Don’t know if I like one more than the other but thought they were all hot.

Some of us were there for the original shows. I'll cover and raise with "do you remember rabbit ears and aluminum foil" - amazing how we used to have 4 channels ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS and we'd have "discussions" over what to watch - now we have hundreds of channels with nothing to watch - literally, given the untimely death of sports... I do. Also before there were hand held remotes; “I” was my Dad’s remote. Anytime he wanted the channel changed, I would manually turn the dial the number of spots to get the next channel. In the Capital District, living in Sch’dy we always had trouble getting good reception for 13. Always had to play with the rabbit ears antenna and turn the dial on the rabbit ear box.

Everyone over 60 does. How about a TV repairman that made house calls?

Kind of a sad ending for Siena this year. After a 9 year drought to be on the cusp of the first NCAA appearance:( Its a shame they will miss the national exposure that goes with it too. All the players worked so hard for this and the seniors will not get another shot. Impressive season for the team for sure but a disappointing outcome that was obviously out of their control.

I support efforts to create personal space and isolation.......but it’s hard. I am a widower. 77. With multiple heath issues. I am walking more. I want to help my neighbors. But must stay safe too. Lots of calls to family up north. Maybe I can shop for people less mobile then me. We must trust with each other.
This form is helpful. A way to talk to other. Some of whom are well known to me. March madness will be back next year I must work to be alive and appreciative. Pax/Bonum
