We've played 3 top-100 teams, plus Bona who could get there (at 122 right now), and a solid PL club in American. Still have a perennially strong mid-major in Bucknell. Not sure what the objections are here. No objection at all I thought this years schedule was pretty solid. I’d just like to see games vs some of the conferences I mentioned above just for variety. Fair, guess my thing is that playing good regional teams in the northeast probably means more to the average fan than playing less regional fitting teams. Is Southern Miss or Kent State or Austin Peay enough better than Yale/Bucknell/Holy Cross that it outweighs 1. being able to travel to the road games easier 2. local fan awareness of the teams.

You guys have short memories. So no major programs have played at our arena? Xavier, Pitt, Stanford and I'm pretty sure Syracuse played UAlbany in our building. Showing your age ole man-- those days are long gone-- Albany had to sign I think it 7 for 1 to get Cuse in the TUC -- re read my post above on why -as recently as 2006 the big east played a 16 game conference schedule, the games just aint there anymore coach Luckily Syracuse isnt in the Big East There's "no games" for them to do this huh? But in December Boeheim has a 10 day, 3 game stretch with: Oakland, North Florida and Niagara?? lmao I'm aware how hard it is to get mid-majors to get these monsters to travel, but we arent your typical mid-major with a 15,000 seat arena, and home to an AAU pipeline of players for 2 of the teams I mentions. I just wonder how hard we've tried. Most think like you, negative nancy. I'm more positive, and believe you cant hit a HR unless you get in the box. We blew it a few years ago when I suggested a doubleheader with BYU vs Siena, and Penn St vs UAlbany at the arena. GUARANTEED sellout with two programs all-time leading scorers, BOTH from the 518. AND the nations POY. D'Arg dropped the ball so bad, the Mormons actually played at the GFCC???

Your right coach Syracuse isn’t in Big East anymore, they are in ACC- 20 game conf schedule, 4 games in preseason NIT- high profile games vs Iowa and Georgetown—other 5 games all buy games Cuse hasn’t gone on road to mid major in last several years ( maybe decade or more) its just not done in this day and age—it’s not just Siena—A10 and Valley teams seldom get major teams in anymore- between expanded conf schedule( most P6 conf play 20 game conf schedule) and sheer amount of money these teams make off TV contracts and NCAA tournament money—they just don’t have to- they just buy 4 to 6 mids a year and win 95% of those games
Since you are so into it—check into how many P6 teams went on road to mids this year—report back to me when you get the answer

I feel like Albany and Syracuse should always be on the schedule but I guess SU especially is a tough sell
Doesn't Fran owe us one? Would a 2 for 1 with Iowa be out of the question?

IF Girard is the starting PG at Syracuse for 4 years, getting Boeheim to play at the TUC JGs senior year isn’t crazy. Our arena is one of the main reasons. Would they play at the ARC? Of course not. Syracuse will want a $200k guarantee to play at our place. JB played near McNamaras hometown of Scranton, Pa for him, so....

Seriously doubt that Mr. Boeheim will still be coaching at Syracuse by the time JG III is a senior. Someone else will likely be making the call on whether or not they will come down here for a "hometown" game for the Glens Falls native.

Shake all the trees every year, and I bet there's 1 power-conference team we can get into Albany at least every other year. It will be a different team each time, but that's okay.

We re an unusual mid-major because we play in power conference arena. Any team that comes in will want a $$$ guarantee. We have the ability to give them one. Iona and Marist don’t. Duke played AT Canisius!! North Carolina played AT Cornell in King Rices senior year. I know it was a long time ago, but so what? IF a kid is a 4 year starter, or you start 3 kids from upstate NY, why would You not consider going on the road once in awhile? Never hurts to try or ask.

Syracuse isnt coming to Albany for 200K -- that is peanuts for Cuse-- the basketball program brings in over 30 million a year- between home attendance, TV contract and NCAA revenue-- you are living in the 1990's early 2000'sa if you think 200K will bring them to Albany

No chance. He ll def stay until he leaves, and you guys know OOC schedules are usually made a year or two in advance right?
