I think you may be right but I thought I remember a Luke performing one as well. It’s just what limited time I saw of Luke was someone more athletic and more bounce than Bisping & Rossiter. I’m not trying to say Luke is better, just more athletic as a frosh compared both even when they were Seniors. Plus his ball skills/handle looked more like a guard/SF than a 4 or 5.

If Camper ... . Rebounding and defense is where I hope Camper takes his big leaps forward this year. I think there is still untapped upside for him there. Better jump shooting, I don't count on. That would just a be a bonus. Camper, if not Burns, may actually end up as Siena's leading rebounder. Looks like the bonus may happen this season. He’s been working on it (went back to a more comfortable shot). dailygazette.com/article/2019/10/20/camper-key-for-siena-men-s-basketball

He can improve some and still not be a considered a good jump shooter. The only Saint that I remember ever really turning it around was Marquis Wright. If they were good shooters in high school but they shot bad as frosh, I don’t count it. Wright was the only I remember adding it as a new skill at the college level. This would be a new skill for Manny. I hope he does it. I really do. His potential skyrockets if he does. I’m just skeptical as it’s rare to learn to shoot consistently while at the D1 level.

I'd be extremely happy if Manny get up to 65/70% foul shooter- that is doable and considering how often he goes to line very helpful !!

If you told me he'd do that but not shoot 3's, I'd sign up for that right now. Kid is built to attack the rim. He has one of the highest FT rates in the conference. At his career rate, if he ever attempted as many FGA as Pickett, he'd shoot 290 FTs a year.

yeah the video was Mahala Yes, Mahala in video but my original statement that Luke’s more athletic and has more guards skills than Bisping & Rossiter (as a frosh) still stands. My comment was a response to the people comparing Luke to Having a game like Bisping & Rossiter. While he can play the 4-5, can hit the 3 & jump shot, and drive to the basket; his slam dunk competition was more like Mahala’s or a Wignot. I would not be surprised if before he graduates we see him playing the 2 or 3 in addition to the 4.

HJ - what do you see in Luke that reminds you of Rossiter? Not trying to be critical, just genuinely curious. I can see some similarity to Brett in that he was a legit 3 point threat with size and some handle, though I think Luke is likely to spend a much higher percentage of his time on the perimeter in comparison. I saw him 4 or 5 times in HS and he was usually the biggest kid on the floor. He has the skill set that will allow him to be a dependable 3-point shooter and shotblocker because of his underrated athleticism. That’s why I see some Brett and Ryan in him. Also I see Luke as our first big off the bench (if Sammy starts as most are predicting). I can see him being our best rebounder as he gets older like the two we re comparing him to.

Don’t get too carried away with dunk contests. I ll be more impressed if any of these kids can actually dunk ON SOMEONE. I’ve known lots of kids that shine in uncontested dunk contests but fail to show that same bounce in a game situation.

I believe he went to the rim very well at the high school and aau ball. Everyone seemed jazzed about getting him and what he could do. he was one of the best players in NYS and now, many of you who were delighted to recruit him are all nervous and jerky about whether he can perform at the MAAC level. I don't get it! I know there's a difference at the D1 level, but that holds true for all the other teams as well.

I think every poster loves the kid, and is expecting big things from him as a freshman.
