Looks like Kadeem was selected as a Victory Scholar. According to some brief internet research this means that he gets a scholarship to attend an Irish masters program. While there he will play basketball for the school and a local club, as well as volunteer in the community. Sounds like a cool opportunity and happy to see such a great kid and excellent team player finding success! http://instagram.com/p/B1PAw7PA0nw

I think Ryan Oliver did that too. Congrats to Kadeem, one of my favorite players last year.

Kadeem was one of the most genuinely funny and kind guys I've met. Wish him nothing but the best.

I think Ryan Oliver did that too. Congrats to Kadeem, one of my favorite players last year. Yes- Ryan flourished there in Northern Ireland and took advantage of a great opportunity to continue playing the game he loves, travel Europe, garner experience working with and positively impacting the lives of youth- and earn a master's degree. There's a process required to apply including recommendations, writing essays and interviewing (much like applying for college) and it's prestigious to "win" a spot. Ryan and Kadeem both have the skills and the affable personalities to do very very well. Speaks volumes for the calibre of student -athlete at Siena

Sounds like a cool opportunity and happy to see such a great kid and excellent team player Kadeem Smithen is a terrific young man. If you talk with him for five minutes, you realize how genuine he is. He persevered through a lot of disappointment in his time at Siena, but he never quit. Just kept fighting through it. We all saw the intensity with which he played whenever he was on the floor, which made it all the more rewarding when his effort and determination paid off in a big way for the team last season. Without a doubt, he was a difference maker for the Saints. Proud to have Kadeem as a fellow alum of Siena!
