With Freshman Harris now added into the mix of Grad senior Burns, Juniors Friday and Camper, and Sophomores Seymour, Carey, and Pickett (and possibly Ratliff??)..... .....does our current 7 or 8 currently or in the future match up with Frans team make up of senior hasbrouck, juniors eubiles, franklin, and moore, sophomores rossiter and cj, and freshman od as part of our greatest 4 yr run in program history? Different type of make up of players I know, but can they be just as successful or even better this year and over the next 4 yr span than those Siena icons were? I think this question will make for a great thread next March/April assuming Carm and co can game plan and coach these kids to their potential and there aren't any significant injuries to key players.

The biggest luxury we have this year is that we are going to get to find out quick whether Carm can coach or not. If we had brought in a new coach and Pickett left along with Burns or Carey and some others then we would be back in total rebuild mode and need to give the coach 3 to 5 years to evaluate him. With the roster Carm has assembled the team should be ready to compete for a championship immediately and barring major injures the season will be a massive disappointment and raise major questions about Carm as a coach if the team finishes 5th or 6th in the MAAC. Good post Scott, right on the mark. Carm certainly hasn’t shied away from expectations. No 5 year plan bullshit. In fact quite the opposite much like Fran he talks about competing for MAAC title every year, sustainable success etc, Carm is talking the talk, hopefully he can walk the walk. I mean if we won 22 games and lost to Iona in finals it wouldn’t be end of the world, but I think most Siena fans expect Siena to be pretty darn good this year, barring unforeseen injuries academic casualty’s etc, a 4 or 5th place finish would be disappointing to most Siena fans Having two respected and experienced assistants in Simon and Wyche should help Carm as he finds his footing as a HC.

JP's in game coaching is what did them in...not their talent. It is too soon to start comparing this team to a Fran team before over half the roster has even played a game at Siena...some even a single D1 game. That's how you get roasted by fans of other schools. Since when are we delusional Siena fans known to give a hoot what other team fans think??? Just sayin, Roast away Mr. Peanut. +1

Based on Siena’s Instagram story, Gary Harris is officially on campus today. The others get in over the weekend.

Cant wait to see Gary play- we know the kid is ultra athletic. Was his shooting at the UA tournament a fluke , or is his shot that good. If he can shoot Gary will have a very nice Siena career!!

He's the biggest key to the entire season, I think.

He's the biggest key to the entire season, I think. I agree. Assuming Pickett is one of the best players in the conference and one of Carey/Burns is all-MAAC if Harris is a ROY contender Siena has a great chance to win the MAAC.

Just talked today with someone at Siena who was chatting with one of the assistant coaches and he said they are "very high on Harris". He is super athletic, could be a starter right out of the gate, and is drawing comparisons to Edwin! Some pretty high praise early on!

He has great length on top of that crazy athleticism. Can't wait to see him play in person.
