Could this be why we have no commitment announcements? Maybe focus became more on PGs

This whole business is giving this old man palpitations. It reminds me of the Mad Hatters tea party.

Doesn't look like he's going to be a second round pick though. I agree we need to keep recruiting. They don’t usually lie about taking a kid in the first round, but 2nd? That’s off the table. No guarantees there, and no 3rd round. Even if he goes in the second no guarantee he sticks and he probably ends up in the G league toiling. Sorry love the kids game but he’s getting a lot of smoke blown up his a$$! The reality of the situation is that he’ll get a few workouts but more than likely will go undrafted and will be returning. No harm really, only burning one of his two trial runs. I’m starting to think as HJ pointed out that maybe we do need another pg/g soon, 2020 at the latest.

Looking at the last several drafts no mid-major guys (true MM not Gonzaga/Wichita State) were drafted in the second round. It's mainly international guys, MM junior/senior or HM guys.
If Jalen doesn't go first round - he probably doesn't get drafted history. But it only takes one! Hopefully he's being advised well!

Thought Carey was a true point guard?

Thought Carey was a true point guard? The loss of Walker and Richard left us very thin at the guard spot. Edwards would hold us over if we can get him which is great for this year. Should Pickett leave next after the 20 season we would be in trouble guard wise.

Sorry MTS, Pickett just announced, according to Michael Kelly, he’s staying in the draft even if he’s a 2nd round pick. Go get a PG Carm, the league has cometh and taken away! Somebody better start paying attention to junkie on this. He’s onto something. Highly unlikely that he’s going in the second round. Which means he will return, worse case is that he’ll burn one of his two trials to test the water and return to college if he’s not drafted. Expect another even better season next year and another attempt at the NBA to follow. Getting anxious to see what we’ll be doing with the 3 open slots that we need to fill. Really want to see if this staff can land talent, I really don’t want to see mediocre players just to fill slots.

Love his game and all he does. Will need to be able to bring the ball up the court without turning his back as a PG. Lucky us, that can be fixed.

If Pickett gets invites/workouts, gets good advice, and is able to start a successful professional career earlier than anyone imagined, I'll give him a standing ovation. But for a little macro perspective on what he's up against doing so this year...
(the total # is 233, but 175 are from college/institutions)

Anyone who is drafted has seriously earned it. I'll root for Pickett to get the invites he wants in May, root for him to get the feedback he needs to make an informed decision and root like hell for him whether he comes back to Siena or seeks a professional career.

I'll be honest. I'm scared.
Pickett is an extremely unique player whose only real long term weakness I see is quickness. I'm afraid some team might decide to latch on to that potential this year. I'd be very happy for him, but he's irreplaceable.
