Not that I know of, but he played HS ball in the DC area (Bladensburg, MD) so I would think that Carm would know of him.

What does this have to do with Seymour? He's a potential teammate.

Ok, thanks. Too bad we don't have separate threads to discuss actual or potential recruits...

Seymour was last to commit so the title of this thread is done as far as he’s concerned, but it looks like this thread turned out to be pretty accurate when it comes to Pickett. Anyone thinks JP is here past his Soph year is crazy. Jalen is all in on the NBA talk. College is in his way right now. We still need to recruit like he won’t be here. Might be a small % right now, but he’s gone next year for sure, IF he has the same type of year he had as a freshman. Our only chance of him staying is if he has a sophomore slump. I’d rather have his successor on the roster this year, than next, so take advantage of this info Carm and do some combo/point guard shopping these next few weeks.

Just out of curiosity where is he going after next year? You really think if he improves on his frosh season he’ll actually have a shot at being drafted? It’ll definitely up the buzz.

I think if he has a big year in 2019/2020 there’s a good chance he’ll go if he gets the first round grade. And it’s more than just Jackson Hoy who thinks he could be a 2020 first round guy. There’s a lot of buzz and if he does well in the workouts this year that will help him too. I don’t think he’d leave next year to only be a second rounder but who knows about his financial situation.

I understand this is a forum that is based on debating, but give me a break - we've got him for next year so why are we looking forward to him leaving after it? He's doing the right thing now - if things work out for him (lots of things IMO) and he moves up, ala Kevin H, so be it AND GOOD FOR HIM - WE HAVE LITTLE INPUT INTO IT! Regardless of how close many are via players' Twitter feeds or knowledge of the obvious NBA draw, etc., his COACH knows him best NOW and Carm's invested in him AND PLANNING FOR WHAT HIS REAL VISION IS FOR THE TEAM INTO AND BEYOND THE NEXT YEAR. Talk of a sophomore slump for Jalen is ridiculous - almost like creating a self-serving wish list to ensure he stays in Green&Gold - S#*t, I hope he excels next year and we make it to the Sweet Sixteen - likely? NO! Imagine the recruiting advantage if he makes it after his sophomore year - SIENA's program, in the MAAC, Coach Carm got a player into the NBA in only TWO years - marketing gold. I'm just sitting back and anticipating another even better year under Coach Carm with Jalen directing the plays on the floor - can't do much else, except make popcorn maybe....

I never said he’d have a sophomore slump. I said that’s the only way he’s staying for his junior year. No one is rooting against him. I hope he makes the NBA. I really do. I hope I’m wrong. BUT I’m a Siena fan first, and I want what’s best for the program. Can you imagine Hasbrouck or Ubiles prematurely chasing their NBA dream? Those magical seasons/games don’t ever happen. I just wish he’d slow down, let it come to him. F Jackson Hoy. He’s just a kid hoping to find a hidden gem to give his hobby credibility. I’d really hate for Jalen to give up his last two years so he can “maybe” play in the G League in ‘20-‘21. Yup, it’s his decision, and I hope people around him are doing what’s best for him, not them. The NBA will always be there JP. It’s not going anywhere. Work on your game for 4 years, then let the teams decide if you’re draftable.

He's an incredibly rare talent who is NBA bound(could be after the upcoming season or after his senior year which would be ideal) but has aspects of his game in which he can certainly improve. With that being said, the time is now to win while he's here. Whatever happens to the 3 scholarships will certainly have an impact but make no mistake he is the key to how good this year's team will be. Go Saints!

he has a number of things to work on... most importantly that first step. He put up great numbers but he did so in a system that was essentially walk it up settle into a half court offense and let him have the ball for 40 mins a game. Very few, if any opportunities like that in the rest of the country. I suspect the feedback is going to be extensive. I like him, he makes great decisions... but he will need a leap of improvement in a few areas before he's going league.

Glad I got my season tickets.... if Jalen blows up next year the curtains will come down ... if he stays at the same level & with new roster on the floor still will be a hot ticket ... all this NBA buzz is good for the program, good for recruiting & great for fans

I hope Jalen eventually gets his bite at the apple, but I don't think anyone is going to offer him that bite even after next year. From what I see he has a big hole in his game. He is great at finishing at the rim off an open court break but I didn't see much success from him from above the arc to the rim out of a set offense. At 6'4 or 6'5" (same thing to me) he needs to grow that part of his game to have a shot. I am not saying that becomes his game, but he needs to have that tool in his toolkit. I would guess, guess, developing the moves once he gets inside will take him 2 years. Just my two cents.

He's a team first guy who just wants to win. Getting the feedback is good and as MP said could very well help Siena as well. The biggest jump is usually from your frosh to sophomore year. Let's see what he does and if he's a serious NBA player in 2020. He has a lot of things to work on (handle, playing uptempo, outside shot, etc) some things are just God given (athleticism/quickness, for example).

Court vision and awareness are gifts as well. Can't really teach that.
