This is devastating. The Admin needs to work REALLY fast to try to salvage this situation.

HE IS GONE!!!!...SO MUCH FOR ..I LOVE SIENA BULLSHIT! Unless it's a family issue...and from his GW statement is doesn't appear to be...the guy is a total snake. "I'm going to take Siena where they've never been" .... I love Siena.... What a dishonest MF. Look I know coaches don't stay forever....give me 3-5 years.... I always rooted for Paul and Fran. I hope he gets BURIED IN THE A10. BURIED.

Siena should drop to D-2 and move games to ARC. They clearly can't compete with the higher middle majors in pay. As for JC I can't blame him but he sold us a bunch of BS. Just the other day he said wait to see what happens over next couple of weeks. I guess he was talking about himself and screw Siena.

If it was about money then Siena would have ponied up more if 450K is the right number. Plus a move to the A10 with a program that has been mediocre? I don't think Siena even had a chance to counter-it was a done deal from what I understand. Something doesn't add up here and I hope we can get the true story some day. Doesn't appear to be about money so it's either to get closer to his son which, if that was the case, why did he take our job in the first place or some rub with the administration at Siena.

I am shocked and disheartened at this announcement! The administration and especially the AD has finally got to go!To only be paying a salary of 275,000.00 is a joke!Fran,i believe made $600,000.00 his last year.Something must have happened between the AD ,Administration and the coach for this to happen. With the price of season tickets(300 and change this year) they should be able to match that offer.Oh my,have far have we fallen!

Double your salary, come on, you’d be waving goodbye not looking back. I’m sure he had no intention of leaving after a year. Had he not found Pickett he’d still be here. That's bush league and proves that you are a low character coach. He spent the past year getting people to commit to a program under the impression that he wasn't going to leave right away. This is the problem with the NCAA, kids couldn't transfer yet he could leave after 1 year? Total garbage. And I am not under the impression or delusion that he should stick around long term, but if you commit to a job you should at least spend 2-3 years there unless a high major comes knocking or you have NCAA tournament success. He accomplished nothing at Siena. Louis Orr II

Sorry, you can't just hand the job to Carm unless he gets Pickett to sign in blood that he isn't leaving. Agree 100%. That's why we ended up with Mitch.

Anyone know if these was a conflict with admin that may have started his job search? The situation smells fishy. I don’t see a coach going to a mid-level A10 school from Siena with a ceiling as high as his. He probably would not have taken the Siena job if he wanted a DMV location. He could have stayed at MSM and moved to A10 from there. There is more to this than is publicly known.

I heard that he was taking Jalen and all his recruits. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

First tweet since the news. This guys is a prick I was trying to reserve judgment and hear what the guy had to say, I mean his family is in the area after all and maybe there was more to the story. But for this to be his first post, with Siena completely wiped from his profile, feels very low. Not even a thanks for the memories? I really thought he was classier than this. The guy has the right to do what is best for him, but we also have a right to be upset at the disloyalty.
