Congrats to MP and whomever the other person is for winning the group challenge. I am not sure why my handle didn't show when I completed my bracket but I am the one in second. It has been an interesting tourney. Thanks again Gorvy for putting the group together.

Have to feel for Auburn....missed the double-dribble which essentially wins them the game. The foul I guess could go either way tough to lose on that. Bruce Pearl is a great coach - classy in defeat.
Texas Tech just shut down Michigan St - one of the best defensive teams in recent memory I can remember.
An odd final...two high-major programs but non blue bloods. I'll go with Texas Tech. UVA's luck runs out.

Filling out the bracket may not be rocket science, but I'm not surprised that our resident rocket scientist is the winner. Congratulations to MP!

UVA's luck runs out. Yeah, I have a different take on it. I've played, coached and watched a lot of basketball and have never seen the double dribble called on that. (And agree with Barkley, Smith and Kellogg that I didn't even knew that was the rule.) In the split second, no way that call is being made. As for the foul, it was plain and simply a foul. Guy did not kick out a leg (ala Reggie Miller) but the defensive player entered his space and fouled him with the lower body while he was still in the air. Has to be a foul call. Major props to Kyle Guy for hitting those 3 free throws. Talk about pressure. As for Bruce Pearl, I cannot believe how everyone glosses over the guys past. He was given a show cause by the NCAA not for having recruits at a barbecue at his home but for lying about it repeatedly. (and trying to get others to lie about it repeatedly). And then doing it again. His program is one of the ones that is under a cloud because of the FBI investigation and one of his assistants had to be fired because he was indicted. Yeah, he is a personable guy but he is as dirty as hell.

Unfortunately my purely emotional ties carried Iowa and Michigan too far into the tourney, costing me first place in our family/friends pool - my son, a true rocket scientist, just squeaked by me...Siena's resurgence rekindled a too long suppressed interest in college hoops and made following the whole of D1 hoops this year much more enjoyable...
