Sure cantamessa was a great player but I heard the same comments back then. As a freshman he had 80 rebounds in a different style of play (500 for career). Seymour has 20. He had 173 points to Seymour 233 and counting. 3 point fg .380 to .360. Cantamessa had a huge sophomore jump let’s give Seymour a chance one more year. Cantamessa took 57 free throws as a freshman and 357 in his career. Seymour has taken 2. Cantamessa also attempted 64 2 point field goals as a freshman compared to 18 for Seymour. He was far less one dimensional than Seymour is. Let's hope Seymour dedicates his offseason to rounding out his game but a lot of defense, rebounding, and aggressiveness is attitude and I haven't seen any desire from Seymour to want to do anything but shoot 3's thus far. Could be an all-MAAC player if he wants it or he could be recruited over and buried on the bench by his junior year. Neither would shock me. Maybe the coach doesn’t allow him to take any 2’s; ever consider that? He’s a three point specialist not a two point specialist. It will never matter what “we fans” think players should do; it only matters what the coaches allow or believe they should be doing. That being said, this summer they all get to work on their weaknesses (after our long post season run).

Please stop, anyone who has played any organized sport in their life would know that no coach is ever giving instructions to a player to only bomb threes and not be allowed to shoot a two.

Maybe not firm instructions but coaches nowadays thing about that. See Tim Cluess. Threes and layups.
If you shoot a great 50% on a midrange 2, that's only 1 point per shot.
You ideally want 3's or 2's that give you a chance to get fouled. That's the modern math.

Understood but no way in hell any coach is forbidding a player from taking a 2, and certainly not an in need of motivation player like Seymour.

Maybe but he ripped into Manny for a pull up midrange jumper at Monmouth. I’m not stating this as a negative rather to state certain players aren’t supposed to take certain shots. It’s not one of those shots we take. Either drive to the hoop or shot the three. There’s only a couple guys that have the ok for midrange jumpers. Who’s to say that’s Sloan’s role. Even when he does take a two, it’s barely inside the 3pt line (for this year). Maybe next year he’ll have more twos.
