He needs to put a 4 year resume of work, and then take his shot, like every other MAAC kid. Of course there should be a few deep runs in the NCAA tournament on that resumé!

From your keyboard to God's ears!! Carm has to prove he can do it as a first time head coach but I'm optimistic. Depending on who we add is the most talented team a first year Siena coach took over? I'm thinking it's close with Rob Lanier's (also Orr's team) first team right up there. That year the ending was nice but a struggle all season. Hopefully Carm is much more prepared as a first time coach.

Lanier’s first team had to deal with a whole new backcourt after Stewart and Knapp graduated. Lots of good pieces but holes that had to be filled. Prosper coming on late in the season was the difference maker.

Everyone needs to relax ... Jalen is too smart to make a stupid decision 👍👍 Most of us, if not all of us, make stupid decisions from time to time. I doubt that Jalen is immune from the same human shortcoming. Guess Jalen’s a lot smarter then some posters in here we’re giving him credit for ... he took maximum advantage of the situation he was in and Siena will be the better for it

And Im not sure how him going thru the NBA draft ringer helps him, or Siena?

Mmm ... playing against top talent for a month did nothing for his game ... hearing from NBA evaluators what areas he needs to make improvements does nothing to reinforce what he probably has already been hearing from his coaches and this experience will have no impact in making him a better player for Siena this upcoming season ... definitely a waste of his time

Jury still out on if it helps his game. Will his game be geared towards Siena’s goals, or NBA improvement suggestions? I personally think he got exposed during this whole process. Yes, he’s a GREAT low conference player, and there’s been plenty of them over the years in the MAAC, but it doesn’t mean they’re NBA players. I’d be surprised if the NBA wants him to go thru this process again. They already know his weakness is his lack of athleticism. Something you can’t really improve on. Even with improved shooting % and a better handle, the main problem will still exist. If I’m an NBA scout I’d want to invite back the kid with thru the roof athleticism, but had to work on his shot and maybe his basketball IQ. The only thing NBA people should be telling Jalen is to stay in school for 4 years, get your degree and hopefully get drafted in 2022. There’s no shame in going into the draft as a 22 yo, battle tested senior. It does matter for lottery picks, not late 2nd rounders from low D-1 conferences.

One of the things I learned going through the SPIN Certification process to become a Spinning Instructor is the differences in muscle types - fast and slow twitch muscles - the mix of these determines why runners are either sprinters or long distance successes and rarely both. Training fast twitch muscles to increase athleticism is a long process - I can testify to that comparing my standing sprint speeds now with what they were 5 years ago.

If this was the path taken by past Siena head-cases I’d have a different opinion/view ... I may be wrong butI I think Jalen will continue being a team-first player

I've actually been starting to jump train. I'm around 6ft and I've never been able to dunk. I play a ton of volleyball. I'm starting to learn about this. Increasing your vertical is hard.

We will see but the best thing you can say about a PG is that he won a lot of games. You know Jalen will put up good numbers all across the board but winning championships will be his best asset to sell to a team down the road. I can definitely see Jalen in a situation as a senior like JWF from Hofstra who very likely will be a second round pick. And who knows McCallom and Lillard both were lottery picks after being four year players.

I’m guessing his basketball future, and his ability to make a living off it, ranks ahead of Siena. Guess we ll see how influential those NBA people were.....

Top picks in the draft and couldn’t get their teams to the NCAAs?! You need the ability to contribute at the highest level. That’s all that matters.

I get it at the top I'm talking guys later in the draft, fringe guys. I'm not saying it's the most important thing but for a PG especially winning pedigree and leadership is important building a culture if an NBA team is looking for that 10-13 man as is solid character guys.

Give me an example of him doing these things for the NBA scouts that would hurt the team? He's a PG - he's not going to shoot it 30 times a game. And he's our best player there is no deferring to anyone else in crutch time. Do you think if they threw a double at him we won't pass to an open Carey in the corner or run the Pick(ett) and role with Burns? He made Fisher an all-MAAC guy imagine what he'll do with an athletic ACC transfer?
