JP's teams were obviously thin on talent, but I think that he got some good kids (not nearly enough - you get out what you put into the recruiting process), however, at the MAAC level payer development is key. As a MAAC team, you typically are not getting a "do it all" freshman. Players that come to this level need to work on areas of their game (some much more than others). That's where JP and crew fell flat in my eyes. Too many times players were grabbing calf muscles due to cramping, make the same stupid fouls over and over and over and over again. His teams never really "peaked". You expect as the season goes on that the team will get better and that would carry over to the next year. I suspect that his team would under perform even if 3 3-star recruits came in one class.

Yup, is similar to my fellow Bills fans that are still irate that they traded away the draft pick that wound up being Patrick Mahomes. Like the Bills wouldn't have found a way to screw him up and he would look just as good as he does in an Andy Reid offense surrounded by talented skill players? Come on people, not a chance. In the same vein you knew that any Patsos recruit was going to come in and look solid and never improve. Jury is still out on JC players but at least there is a good chance we will see solid progression of players as they age up. At the very least we can already see the physical transformation of Friday and Camper and the all around improvements from Fisher under JC.

A bit off topic, but I just noticed that Kenny Wormley is still on Hofstra's roster, and it appears that he has a minimal role - scoring only 2 points in the 4 games he has played at all. I have no idea what happened to him, but I liked what he did when he was here.

Surprising how bad he has done there, that his handlers thought that would help him get to the NBA is beyond laughable at this point and just sad. Also, disappointing how ineffective Jordan Horn has been so far at North Dakota State. Was always going to be a defensive liability but he showed signs of being an offensive stud.

Just curious - did Horn get a waiver so he could play this year? I thought transfers had to sit out a year - as Penn and Oduro seem to be doing.

Wormley is stuck behind 2 very high scoring guards.................he isn't a volume scorer or a big offensive weapon and thus getting less minutes...........Mihalich really values scoring guards much like he did at Niagara.............

Yes, he got a waiver but I am not sure on what grounds. Is interesting cause when he first announced he was going to North Dakota State he indicated he would sit out the year and there was no mention of a waiver.

Horn is like the 8th or 9th man on his team-- I think he is paying behind a trio of Junior guards- so he wont play much till his senior season if at all. Problem with Horn is he is extremely slow footed. He can shoot but you have to be able to defend your position. If you cant you are regulated to role player

Brendan Barry, a 6'1" pg at Dartmouth, had 25 its on 7-11 shooting from beyond the arc to beat UAlbany in Ireland today. He was from Monmouth, NJ. We ended up not offering him.

Jake Wojick, JP's early signee a bunch of us had major doubts about because of a Loyola connection (another Cam Gottfried?), is having a great year at A-10 Richmond. He starts, plays 31 min a game. Avg 8 points, 3.4 reb and 2 assists as a freshman. I guess he could play.

"Elite" is 33.9, so 35.6% is, I dont know, "gold standard?" Do we bring up the GUARDS 3.4 rebounds a game vs .07 for 6'9" SS?? Better not. Or his 3:1 assist:turnover ratio so far?? Lets not. This is a gun fight, and you bought a knife. lol

With all this talent Patsos is recruiting somebody better snatch him up quick before duke hires him. If he takes over for coach K they may never lose another game, although their lunch money may disappear from time to time.
