Thread should be titled: Players Patsos didn’t work hard enough to recruit, who should consider themselves lucky that they didn’t have to endure his bull$hit! Man you're bitter. It's over now. Lmao, this from the guy who can’t stop trolling.

Dom Welch starts for Bonaventure. Played 32 min and had 8 points in an OT loss to Bucknell.

Not sure what the point of this thread is? No coach lands every target, and players get away all the time. So are we going to track every player Patsos (half-heartedly) recruited, why? For what purpose? He’s gone and so are the kids that didnt select Siena. We’ve turned the page. Thank God!
We all know why most kids didn’t come here, and why a large number of the ones that did left.
In short, who cares. Pointless!

I agree it's kind of fun to see who we missed on-- and there was a lot the last 5 years, JP seldom won a competitive recruiting battle, unless he knew the AAU or high school coach. I will say Welch or Timberlake were never coming to Siena. It is soooooooooooo damn refreshing to have a staff that actually puts tremendous effort into recruiting year round.

Those were the two that def were coming, if he stayed onas coach. Pickett was also recruited by the last staff and loved the school. Both City Rocks (Welch & Pickett) were advised to wait and see how the HC situation ended up. Pickett came anyway (Carm helped a lot here). Welch decided to go to Bonnie instead. It happens. A person in Timberlakes group (here on the official) told me basically the same thing. Love Siena and would sign tomorrow if we knew how the situation panned out. So Baker, Pickett, Timberlake and Welch. Would have been a great class. Too little, too late. We needed to move on, and JC looks like he's got us on the right path. I'm very optimistic about the future of the program.

I'm very optimistic about the future of the program. very true, JP was going to finally hit it out of the park with bringing in quality recruits had he been able to stick around................however, the biggest issue not to be overlooked, is that it took year 5 and his fanny squarely sitting on a very hot seat for him to get out there and actually recruit "his ballz off".............had JP had this same approach the moment he stepped on the Loudonville campus, he might have continued the success that we experienced under Fran, or at the very least would have had a league contender every single yr, that & he could have found himself linked to higher level jobs........instead he just mailed it in, and got lazy on the road recruiting, not sure he will get another D1 head coaching stint in his future either because of it......................

I assumed that if JP was actually looking like he was going to land a killer recruiting class the Siena admin would have held their noses and kept him around. When it became clear that he was not going to land his targets the admin started looking for a reason to let him go. Sent from my SM-G935P using proboards

Would a, could a, should a ... DIDNT ... doesnt matter a lick. The fact that Patsos waltzed through the door and didn’t do his job and collected a nice fat check speaks VOLUMES about his character. Couple that with a NOXIOUS/CANCEROUS environment he was responsible for creating ... he wasn’t winning here no matter who he recruited. Timberlake and Welch wouldn’t saved this guy from himself. Horrible character, horrible coach.
I’ve said many times over the last few years successful coaching is much more than recruiting. Good players with a coach who lacks character, leadership, professionalism and structure is like a rudderless ship. Kids see through bull$hit a lot quicker than some think!
Good riddance!

Sent from my SM-G935P using proboards wrong, that ship had sailed mid-year before any of these recruits could have committed, as the admins were already putting the wheels in motion...............and even at that, as OI & some of us have already stated, it wouldn't matter anyway, JP wouldn't be able to utilize that talent to be successful if he stuck around, he couldn't do it with his best group (Wright-Long-Clareth-Bisping-JO).........
