Omg I can’t believe they are capping attendance at 7146 that’s less than last time! Say goodbye to top 100 attendance. Who is on the saints alive advisory comittee? I’m ok with it for a year or two if it gives us a better home court advantage instead of the crowd being spread out. Also it makes sense while Jamion gets the program back to where it should be. It will take winning to get the consistent high attendance back up. Still could be top of 100.

Capping the attendance shouldn’t matter (and they can always open it up later in the year for big games). It was stupid seeing large groups sitting in the upper deck when seating was open down below. Get the crowd rowdy and make Siena basketball an event again.

Although I made the 4+ hour round-trip drive less often lately due to poor team performance, I will be sitting in neither my preferred center-court upper deck seats or some crappy corner seat where you have to look diagonally all the way up the court for half the action. My two cents, I hope whoever made this decision has two good feet because they just shot themselves in one of them.

I’m sure there are many other upper deck season ticket holders who cannot be accommodated w comparable seats in the lower bowl

Why not go further and just have the games at the arc if all that matters is “atmosphere”. You get atmosphere by winning. This is a losers mentality, trying to drive up demand by creating a false reduced product supply. It didn’t work the last time and it won’t work this time either. And this time it is worse as they are shutting out prime upper bowl seats in place of less desirable corner seats. People won’t buy those to see St. Peter’s play, so it will be a self fulfilling prophecy, brilliant. Siena has an opportunity to build its fan base with a new coach, and instead it has decided to Frustrate their existing customers— Siena is not in a good position to do that right now. Just plain DUMB!

To me it’s just rearranging where the 5k that actually show sit. Think theyre smart enough to realize the only way to push attendance up is to start winning and improve the product.

Marist and Manhattan typically draw more than 7,146 but every maac game has drawn at least 7,146 once in the attached data I compiled when I had more free time. Some of these were also tarp years... again, self fulfilling prophecy. The day of the week matters, the opponent matters, but the most important key is winning. And I expect more winning this season. Last time they pulled this the admin was bullheaded and forced ridiculous “sellouts”. Let’s see what happens this time. sienahoop.proboards.com/attachment/download/2

Like I said you want to bump attendance...win!

Nope, as I said, no free time. Somebody else will have to do it.

Not a fan of tarping off sections.

Everybody should be able to experience mayhem whenever they want to, wherever they want to, if they want to. Kind of hypocritical of Siena to pull the plug on the Albany game because they want the whole community to participate, then “create” an arena more similar to Sefcu. Tell me, lower bowl enthusiasts, are you really going to enjoy the game more huddled together if they are still losing? Of course not. So what is the point, if it is not to artificially drive up the price and alienate fans who don’t want to crane their necks around the baskets for no good reason?

Move the games to the Arc. Get real. The capacity there now is less than 2300.

The more sections you seal off the less cleaning staff etc you have to pay for the events.
