I stayed for about an hour and a half. Lots of retired folks on hand who, unlike me, did not have to go back to work.
Based on what I observed, here are a few thoughts/comments:
There will be a big emphasis on three pointers.
Carey, Smithen, Darwiche and Seymour did not participate actively.
The group appears to be pretty cohesive.
Degnan seems a lot more vocal and more of a leadership type than I observed last year.
Camper and Bayer impressed me the most. Friday is clearly in much better shape.
I expect a lot of four out, one in offensive sets this year.

From this video with interviews, I’ll pull out some quotes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kr39TRhuoUJC, On Georges Darwiche: “has had a great few days early on in practice with his ability to pass the ball. We really felt when looking at the roster we needed a guy who could facilitate the offense, and I think we got fortunate with him being available really late. He’s really come in and understood the offense and is going a great job.” JC, on Braedon Bayer: “has done a great job filling in a lot of different roles for us. He can play the 1, 2, or 3, and his versatility is going to be really important for us.” JC, on Sammy Friday: “He’s a guy who is down about 30 pounds from a year ago, but more importantly than that his mood is in an unbelievable place. He’s a funny guy, he’s got great energy, and we are going to play a lot of guys”. JC, on rotations: “up to 9 or 10. Anyone who can help us win the game, I want to have the opportunity to play. The kid’s practice really competitive, they have a lot of fun with it, they know their role is important. My job is to play as many guys as we can to help us get to our goal. If a guy at the top of our rotation has to play less minutes, my job is to convince him that’s best for our team.” JC, on Sloan Seymour: “we are going to shoot a ton of threes, and obviously that fits his skillset the best. He’s an outstanding 3-point shooter, I think on the prep circuit he was one of the best stretch 4’s there, so we’re really fortunate he that the guy lived about 3 miles away from campus and really had a passion for Siena, and I expect him to have a Career. We just have to get him healthy and back and when he gets back, He’s going to launch a lot of 3’s. He’s going to have the opportunity to do that and play with a lot of freedom. A lot of encouraging stuff there.

A lot of encouraging stuff there. Taking threes is great if you have good shooters. I'm hoping that Pickett, Seymour, Darwiche, Bayer can shoot it. Richard was pretty good last year at 43.8% - Fisher at 38% good for a big man. Smithen at a solid 38.7% in limited attempts (12/31). Huerter (10/38 - 35.7%). So we have some potential to be a good team from deep. We also have a lot of bodies but also a lot of question marks and inexperience.

I was there today and was pleased with what I saw and this years team definitely has some promise. Overall Pickett was the best player out there today but camper was not far behind. He is jacked and was doing everything quite well today. Bayer was also a pleasant surprise who could certainly contribute some productive minutes off the bench. As far as the bigs go I liked what I saw and was impressed with Sammy the most. Appears to have lost 25 pounds if not more and it appears that will pay dividends. He was pretty quick on his feet and more aggressive than he has been in his first two seasons. Obviously the youth of the team may be a problem but this team is certainly capable of stealing a few games. JMO and I'd like everyone else's thoughts but if the season was to start today I would have the starting 5 be Kadeem, Khalil, Pickett, Camper and Sammy

I don't remember the context, but I think Jamion said something early on about not having open practices. Somebody should check with the staff. And she may have changed her approach, but I don't think Ali has ever encouraged or welcomed visitors to practice, except maybe on an individual basis. Again, worth checking with the staff. I remember that too. If it were up to him they’d be closed practices. I’m guessing today’s open practice was partially due to the fact that it may have been open to the media too. I’m not sure if prior to today the media were allowed at practice. I thoroughly enjoyed it (even though it was more drills than actual scrimmage). Hope there’s more of these to come.

My guess of the first starting five would be Darwiche, Smithen, Pickett, Camper & Fisher. But I also think coach will really play 9-10 guys so Bayer, Huerter, Richard, Degnan, Seymour & Friday could be part of the other 5. Heck - Ratliff, and others may see time too.
While I was impressed with Camper & Pickett, the two who impressed me the most (and don’t laugh) were Paulo Morastoni & Ben Diamond. They didn’t play like walk-ons at all. In fact, Paulo & Ben we’re pretty consistent in making shots.
Even Malala was making shots. I just think he needs to add some weight (looks like the skinniest guy in the court).

I must have missed it along the way, but what is wrong with Seymour? Coach said when he gets healthy.

Seems like very little news coming out of the practices. Coach has good control of leakage it appears.
