After watching the game last night it’s clear to me they’ll have to get a premiere “5” to replace Burns, especially if not getting a transfer next year (depending on Gray) Golson seems like an strong, athletic “4” to eventually replace Camper. Kwiecinski seems more like a face-up, stretch big. Watching Burns dominate inside and work the pick and roll so effectively I hope they look for a similar profile big If BK comes in at 230, he might be able to play the 5 similarly to Burns. BK looks real skilled. His pivots, step thrus, hops etc.. allow him to finish inside...and he seems to be able to score from most places on the floor. The question would be rebounding and interior D probably...and of course starting a frosh big is always a risk. Will be interesting to see if Young can make progress. He moves better than I thought just based on watching him run the floor. If he works on his footwork on the block he could be a tough player to defend. He has a ton of legit size.

He seems like a guy who could develop into something. Think he's got the toughness. He's just raw and not as versatile. More of a true center. He had 3 boards in 4 mins...so the rebounding aspect seems to have carried over so far.

If he was ready right away at his size he'd be in the big east or ACC.

We’d have Sammy, Young and Denzel as legit 5’s next year. Camper & Golson legit 4’s with BK and Sutherland 3/4’s. What’s missing is that 6’7” athletic shotblocker. My fav comparison player is that center from Holy Cross last year. Adding Carpenter to our perimeter, and as long as JP stays, will be loaded.

I see him as either the 4 or 5 of the future. With Carpenter and what we've got, the perimeter won't be a problem at all if Pickett stays. Especially with Harris/King etc.. having a year of experience. If Pickett stays, the perimeter will likely be stupid good next year. I would feel more comfortable if we got either an interior enforcing shotblocker/rebounder or another experienced/tough pick and roll guy like Burns. If Burns was around next year, the offense would just probably be crazy good. Either BK or someone new might have to step up. Sutherland is probably more a 4 and maybe not tall or shifty enough in the lane. Golson looks tough and athletic but shorter and less skilled. It's gonna be interesting.

Why can’t he apply now so we can recruit accordingly? That should have been done last year. The fact that it wasn’t makes me think he has no interest in coming back and starting next year.

Does Sammy want to play elsewhere for his last year or just move on with his life after graduating? I’m sure if he’s not coming back Carm will recruit accordingly.

Pretty sure Carm and the staff have a pretty good handle on the Friday situation and a contingency in mind. This isn’t something you just wing!
