The shopping last year rumor doesn't mean the kid didn't want to play at Siena, rather it likely meant he'd seen enough of Oh-no and was looking to move on, as in - away from that jerk. Siena wasn't exactly Johnny on the spot letting Oh-no out the back door and then finding, let alone naming a new coach and if Roman had some lines out he'd be foolish not to evaluate all of his options. I'm optimistic he'll return - JO did... ummm, and oh-no, who got JO to come back? Who was the coach RP chose to play for?? ummm... huh? Not sure of either of your points, esp what JO has to do with this. He was a local kid that had gone through a couple tragedies. Ultimately needed to stay close to home. As far as Penn goes, he's been through a whirlwind too. Let's just see what happens. If JC can get him to stay, I'm all for it.

The example of JO's return was thrown out there to highlight the fact that kids all believed to be gone forever do change their minds when situations change...didn't mean to puck up your thought processes...as our older athletes further age it becomes obvious that the mandatory use of head protection in certain sports was a wise move...

Roman Penn needs to move on. Time for Siena to turn the page on players that do not want to be here and move forward with ones that do. New Coach, new players, new program direction. Go Saints!

So what is your weak excuse "wise one"? For what? You seem to have major issues comprehending the language - oh wait, hockey season is ending - you should rest now, inhale, exhale, Let me clear up something for you. I grew up in a Siena household. My dad is Siena '57, GI Bill. My little sister is Siena late 70's- early 80's. you can find both their names around campus on brass plaques that do not come cheap. My mom and dad had the same seats at the TUC from the first game in 1990. My dad who never really got hockey, used to watch Siena bball when they were D3. They finally gave up the season tickets in section 106 last year, when winter and navigating the stairs proved too much. My mom still buys a "10 pack" (she is 91 years old) and when she thinks my dad won't go, she gives me a call and I drive 125 miles each way during the week, if I can work it out, something I have done from the time of Paul Hewitt. I started following the Saints when Mike Deane became coach, I knew Mike from the early 70's when we went to different schools, but same age, in Potsdam. I am an Alum of both Clarkson and RPI where I earned a masters. I am not exactly a dummy. I believe you are "union", not a bad school either. You can disagree with me, just don't question my intelligence. Any questions?

You do write a nice bio. however - you guessed wrong (even with the obvious green and gold glasses I wear clue staring you in face) - Siena grad and Union for grad school (not a big hockey fan). But what does all this have to do with my original post which you obviously got your knickers in a knot over due to my reference to JO coming back SIMILAR TO HOW I'D LIKE ROMAN PENN TO RETURN. Sheesh, it's not rocket science, and I know that for sure ….

I should never have had to written "a bio" for the obtuse. You got lucky. You should never have to resort to using demeaning characterizations for self validation. Does Union still have a grad school, or do you get use the Clarkson affiliation now that it has been absorbed?

I don’t think he joined the active roster until the summer. That’s why he only practiced and sat behind the bench during games and did not travel with the team during away games. Actually I read further, the 5 years start when you start taking classes at a 2 year or 4 year school. (Per the NCAA website). I read elsewhere where it started once you practice with the team. either way, unless I am reading this stuff wrong, his clock started ticking in January 2017. The five years definitely starts on the day he first enrolls for classes. It has nothing to do with whether a player is on a roster or is practicing. Having said that, it is so rare for a basketball player to enroll at mid-year that I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA gives him an extra half year. (Note: he is already eligible to play a half year in his final season, up to the point when he has been enrolled in school for five years.)
