Excellent interview. He sounds like he has no plans of going through a rebuild and wants to win right away. Exactly the kind of coach that the program needs to get it turned around

Time will tell obviously how well Siena will do under his leadership but man Jamion is a breath of fresh air. He is confident, organized and has a plan for success. Love it.

aside from SOUNDING like a successful coach. I liked a lot of what he had to say... ONE thing in particular "we are going to be judged by our first 10 recruits". Accurate. That doesnt mean they all have to be stars but it will say a lot if he finds some players that can play in his system out of the gate and then upgrade the recruiting as he moves forward. Dont fill just to get the scholarships filled.

I have to believe he gets all of that. Given that he was hired in early May, not mid-to-late March, he is at a disadvantage with the Class of 2018, but I think he is smart enough not to take kids who he does not think can help for four years. I would rather he save the scholarships for the Class of 2019 and/or find a quality transfer than award all of the scholarships, which could be either four or five with Nico, Prince, and Jordan likely if not definitely gone and Penn and Bentley possibly gone as well.

Might have to consider a JUCO or 2 in this situation if we lose too many like Fran did with Osby and Diop. Let’s hope Jamion can pull an impact guy out of his hat late too like a Kenny Hasbrouck.

Any word on Penn and Bentley? Is Horn definitely gone? Excited for next season regardless who is on the roster. Just bought premium seats today in 106. It was a long two years waiting for this Phoenix to rise from the ashes.

This is where a couple grad transfers wanting to get a master in accounting would help and then just let JC recruit 19 and 20 kids hard

Baker, Wojcik released. scholarships: Bentley, Camper, Huerter, Richard, Penn, Shivers, Fisher, Friday and whats up with Smithen? Degnan? is that 3 spots available now? or 5 with Smithen and Degnan leaving? I have to think the roster turnover isnt over yet.

Penn is a wait and see guy. Haven't seen much about Bentley. Is the reason he is on the questioned because of his ties to Prince? Hope the remaining 10 stay, which would give Coach 3 scholarships to play with this year, 3 more next year (at a minimum).

this is a steaming pile left behind... wow. This team would be hard pressed to win a single game. at least under the last coach LOL.
the more i look at the roster the more i am sickened at the degradation that has occurred the past 4 years.

Well, I think there might be a little more talent then you do but, this late in the recruiting cycle, i'd rather have 4 or 5 guys that were already in the program (3 of whom are going to graduate next year) than late pick ups that are not building blocks for the future.

The irony is there would have been this much roster turnover of some kind even if Patsos was brought back next season. It was pretty much the annual status quo under his tenure. That said, I'm not going to be overly concerned about losing players and recruits from a coaching tenure that resulted in an 8 win team though. It's not like it's going to result in a freefall from having been at the top of the league.
