Stop already. I went there late 60, early 70. Might have been 50/50 than. Now at best 40/60. I love the values that were instilled at that time. Times have changed, now 2018, like it or not it’s not the same as when you and I attended. Our daughter just graduated in 2016 and the values/Franciscan focus haven't changed as much as you think. They remain an integral and interwoven part of the Siena life and community. Students even take Franciscan core courses and has greatly expanded its lists of volunteering and partnership opportunities for community good. How about any of these -just throwing them out there!! : Siena Swarm; Siena Menace ; or Saintly Swarm; Saintly Storm; Saints' Tempest; Saints' Assault Hey, creative, optimistic and energetic new coach, renewed hope and enthusiasm for our team! New attitude, new name! Go Saints! And I am very glad to hear that. I enjoy being taught, having interaction with the Brothers, Priests that taught and administered the school. I can share stories that old put smile on your face, my wife a non catholic adored a former professor who later went on to become president. My point is that I let all practice wear their religion as they want, it’s there business. Siena B.B. is as large as it is because of the community, not the school itself. Meaning it’s good we don’t depend on the student turning out o support the program. We need to think globally who the base is. Not knocking the values of the school.

The crowd should be led in a "wave" after every three and after every TO called by our opponent...make the cheerleaders LEAD the crowd in a CHEER, e.g., the crowd could chant "Tsunami" (pronounced 'Soo-Na-Me' for those from Watervliet ) while doing the wave ...

I could do that-lol! from the beach in Venice. May have to get home for a game or two-never did relinquish those season tickets...

I take exception to the disparagement of Watervliet. Watervliet is beyond reproach.

WOW WOW WOW ! The more I hear this young man, the more I get pumped! If you can't get excited over this new coach you don't have a heartbeat. The aura around JC and the excitement he generates is going to draw back not only our fans that left but also that casual fan. I really think they got it right this time.

I think he's certainly got a different style than Jimmy and will probably develop a better relationship overall with the players...and that will help with the vibe of the program. But, saying that he's something super special compared to other coaches in the MAAC is a bit over the top.
He's got a shot to turn the program around for sure but he's not a guarantee by any means. He seems like a cross between Sydney and Masiello on a few different levels...in both playing style and personality.
You know what Masiello said when he first took the job?
"We are going to create a new brand and it's going to be the best in the city..." "I know one thing about my program and our program: We are gonna be the hardest-working team in the country, bar none. We will be in the best shape in the country, bar none. And we will be the most prepared team there is."
Substitute 'brand' for 'standard' and NYC for Albany and it's the same stuff that most new coaches say. What matters most is if he can win the turnover margin battle and improve on offense enough from where he's historically been to overtake the others like Iona and Canisius who are doing the exact same thing.
I will say though that the number 1 reason Sydney and Masiello have struggled is an inability to recruit to their own respective systems. I hope that Jamion will not skimp on guards and wings like they have. That may make all the difference for him.
As a write this I realize that he carried 8 forwards on his roster this past year...7 of them over 6-7...and they still managed only 29 rebounds a game...
You should never carry more than 5 forwards on a MAAC roster and expect to have winning record. It is a time honored rule that Mitch, Sydney, and Masiello have all failed to recognize. And if you have that many....you better get some goddamned rebounds.
