Nope, he should go to court and fight for it all. *you do realize CC is saying Siena should pay the ENTIRE amount right?? Not the 25% of some other coach agreed to. What did he do? Call a player stupid? Very very odd for a grown man to worry about another man’s money. Really makes you wonder. Hey, what Jimmy eats doesn’t make you shit, so move along. I'm not worried about his money. I just responded to the "he should take 25% and leave" comment. Not a person out here that would leave 600K on the table.

Remember JP would have to pay a lawyer to represent him. And he could possibly spend that money and ultimately get nothing. We have no idea just how much Siena has on him. But for them to leak this as a warning shot I'm guessing it is a lot.

And I can assure you that Siena doesn't want to litigate this even if they have the goods on Jimmy. What they knew, and how long they knew it, about HC's behavior is not a good story line for the college. And litigating these cases gets expensive quickly. Even when "wrongful termination" or breach of contract claims are BS they are easy enough to plead and get to the discovery phase. Eventually most such cases settle.

There’s two ways of seeing this:
1 is that Siena has been negotiating a buyout and someone in the administration leaked it to get leverage. This would imply Siena has this open and shut and this is a last resort.
The other (and more likely to me at this time) is that a booster/board member leaked this to force Siena to make a move since they’ve been obviously dragging their feet. Now, Siena looks shitty if they don’t fire him very quickly but it also has opened themselves up to a lot of criticism about how this ends.
Siena should have just bought him out in March but here we are.

And this one will as well...What you are seeing right now is both sides positioning the trenches, next salvo will come from Patsos side to stake out his position. Then we'll get to the good stuff and see how far apart they are. Clearly he isn't coming back though. You don't come back from this.

Once the story was leaked, it was officially over. Should have paid him March 6th and moved on. Administration blew it again.

You think JP wants to go to court with the chance he'll get no money AND have a ton of legal bills to pay plus with a more damaged reputation? Or if Siena says here's $200K hit the road and the rest of your shenanigans will remained buried.

Or if Siena says here's $200K hit the road and the rest of your shenanigans will remained buried. By not accepting a buyout know he significantly increases his walk-away in a settlement later. Both sides will do their due diligence and assess risks...if Siena feels their position is particularly strong they will low ball him. Problem is, they clearly have gaps and this isn't open/close case because if it was, he would have been terminated for cause. Which tells me they have significant exposure here and if we can deduce that you don't think Patsos and his team can't? Again, MTS you are the fan that cares NOTHING about Siena beyond the W/L and who's coaching. If this manager was making these allegations against someone on a Fran like run, you'd be slamming this kid or slamming the allegations as in why did it take 5 years to bring this behavior and similar to the forefront. Let's not pretend that you see this investigation as anything more than a means to an end of the Patsos regime. If you could pour a can of gasoline on this manager kid and set him on fire while blaming Patsos, you'd do it! You know it and I know it. In the meantime, Siena looks absolutely awful here and the reputation hit the school is now taking will take a while to recover from. I don't believe for a second you care about that because your calculus doesn't go beyond Patsos is gone.
